Join a House
Houses are a long-standing tradition of our Order, dividing the Sith into various schools of thought that embody the personality, goals, preferences, and aesthetic of its members. Here in the Final Sith Order, your House can be your home base, help shape your identity, give voice to your philosophy, and provide you with vital camaraderie. This Unit includes a sorting holocron which will quiz you on your in-character preferences, and match you with the House which best suits you.

The Houses of the Sith

On the ancient Sith world of Korriban, you enter at last into the great banquet hall of the Sith Temple, your weapon on your hip and the history of your life before the Final Sith Order at your heels. This is your first night at the Sith Academy, and all acolytes have been called forth for an opening feast.

Enthroned upon a gleaming cathedra of onyx and bronze is the Empress herself, and as you set foot into the great hall shoulder to shoulder among your fellow acolytes, you catch your first glimpse of the sublime figure. Darkly resplendent, imperial, and foreboding, the Imperatrix Darth Hesper's aura radiates throughout the hall like an oppressive shadow. You cast a fleeting look upon her, taking in her long, tumbling golden hair, her robes of black velvet, her ethereal beauty… as well as the thin red scar slashed across the left side of her face. She looks down her slender nose at you and the other acolytes, her scarred left eye a glimmering, milky opal, her gaze keen.

It sends a shiver down your spine, as if the Empress were peering into your very soul; she is a vision of power and otherworldliness. Quickly, you avert your eyes.

Surrounding her on either side are the twelve Lords of the Final Dark Council; each at home in their dark thrones, a luscious spread of food and drink laid out before them on the long head table. Decanters of Corellian bloodwine and pitchers of Tarisian ale, heaps of exotic shuura, citrom, deb-deb, and other fruits, boards arranged with exquisite cheeses, platters of rack of nerf, rare, delectable bantha steaks, and more is set before them on precious china. For those not of the Dark Council, a similar feast was laid on six long tables running the length of the great hall, where more senior apprentices and the esteemed Knights, Masters, and Lords of the Final Sith Order were beginning to take their places along the wooden benches.

You, along with the other acolytes you were summoned with, have been instructed to stand in columns at the end of the hall and wait until you are bade to step forth; you wait patiently, licking your lips as the tantalizing smell of sumptuous food wafts around you.

But even more tempting than the grand feast was an object laid upon an unassuming altar before the Dark Lords' head table.

Dimly glowing, crimson, enthralling… a holocron.

A hooded, anonymous figure draped in blackish robes approaches the altar, and stands beside it, raising a hand to quell the clatter and chatter of the feast. You know it is now time for you and the other acolytes to be addressed.

"Acolytes," the figure rasps, its voice rusted and thin. "You have been initiated into our Order; the Force has guided you through the creation of your weapon, the selection of your class, and the study of our Imperial law. But now it is time to find your kindred."

The upraised hand clenches into a fist, and with a hiss, the lights of the hall dim, and one by one, banners descend from the ceiling.

"House Dreadwar," the figure says as the first banner lowers, their fist still upraised—it is crimson and gilded with gold, bearing a black pyramidal sigil topped by the all-seeing Eye of Dreadwar. "The House of our former Emperor, and home to the Empress' elite vassal, the Hesperians. It is a cunning House of sorcery, rationalism, and the arcane."

"House Cruor," the figure says, and the second banner unfurls—an ivory skull sigil is stark against the banner's inky black, stitching of silver thread around its hem. Sharp. Brutal. "A House of warriors—savage, loyal, and skilled. Masters of blade and battle."

"House Tenebris," and the third banner drops, revealing a sigil of a glimmering crescent moon and bloodied dagger against a backdrop of midnight blue, seeming to glow and shift in the dim lighting. "Ruthless assassins, they are—clever, patient, and shadowed."

"House Vassago," the figure wheezes, and the fourth banner descends, its sigil a noble raven—wings outstretched, shimmering and golden—upon a tapestry of velvet black. "The House of noblemen and noblewomen, as honorable and prideful as they are dangerous and scheming."

"House Syn," the fifth banner unfolded, revealing acid green and jet black, and a sigil of a white skull entwined with a hydra seems to twist and tangle on the fabric's surface. "Chaos beckoned, and this House answered—and they are cruel, determined, and inquisitive."

"And our final House—House Kain," the figure said, its still upraised fist quivering. A banner of brilliant red unfurled, revealing a sigil of a gold and white flame which seemed to flicker invitingly. "Forward-thinking, willful, fearless… forged by fire."

Six banners now hung from the rafters of the great feast hall. You peer at each, wondering where you will find yourself—and as you look around the dim hall you realize that each of the six feast tables seems to seat Sith which appear to align with each of the six Houses.

Slowly, the figure lowered its fist. "These are the six great Houses of the Final Sith Order; this night, you will each come before the altar, and in the light of the holocron, you will divine who your kindred might be. And then you will kneel before your new House."

The figure puts its fist to its chest and gives a slight bow before departing the altar—and as they leave, the holocron begins to flicker, levitate, and then shine brightly, its mechanisms whirring as it unlocks to assess each hopeful who will approach it. Languidly, Empress Hesper beckons with two fingers, and the column you are standing in begins to trudge forward, down the aisle through the center of the six House tables. It is then that you realize each table seats a different House, the Sith sitting at each glowering and glaring at you as you slowly process the aisle.

Before you know it, you are the one standing before the altar.

Through the red haze of the holocron's light, you can feel the Empress' eyes on you—prophesying your future, perhaps reading your nervous thoughts, dissecting your very soul…

You turn your attention to the holocron, for its siren call is loud in your mind; an insidious voice which fills your consciousness… and as your understanding blooms, the choice becomes clear before you.

OOC:

Houses are a long-standing tradition of our Order, hearkening back to the early years of this group. Houses such as the Dread Knights, Death Knights, and Shadow Knights (now Houses Dreadwar, Cruor, and Tenebris, respectively) have existed, in some form, since 2005—since before our Order even existed on Facebook.

The Houses of the Final Sith Order can be considered analogous to similar pop culture Houses—such as Hogwarts Houses from Harry Potter, Houses from Game of Thrones, or nations in a strategy game.

Houses serve as themed factions within this group, their own Empire-within-an-Empire, with their own aesthetic, system, traditions, culture, history, titles, motto, philosophy, armies, and their own unique interpretations of what it means to be Sith.

The sorting quiz below will point you to a House which best matches your character; upon completing the quiz, reply with your results in this thread, then locate your new House's subforum, where you will pledge allegiance in the replies of the House's informational post, if they have one. If they do not have one, House leadership will reach out to you after seeing your response to this post. If the Head of that House approves your pledge, you will be accepted. If not, you are encouraged to seek to join a different House. If you have a master already, you need not be in the same House as them—let the holocron, and your unique attributes and characteristics, point you in the direction of the House best suited to you.

Choosing to go Houseless is highly discouraged; you must genuinely attempt to join a House to have a chance at rising through the ranks and continuing your journey in the Empire. House' barracks (Messenger chatrooms and forum threads) will help you navigate and become familiar with the group, point you to many fun activities in our Empire, and give you a designated space to socialize and chat with fellow Sith who share your interests.

More importantly, it's fun! Inter-House events and rivalry—from competitions to occasional Civil Wars—are favorite activities to participate in. Houses allow for collaborative exercises in group roleplaying, lore-building, and world-building.

"In the shadows, there is power. The darkness calls to you, and you answer. You, my child, belong to House Tenebris."

OOC: That was an incredible test. Kudos to whoever designed it.

Thank you my Lord. I would be honored to join the House chat.

The voice of the Holocron echoes within Luca, "The blood of the ancients runs through you. War was their calling, and yours. You, my child, belong to House Cruor". He stands up, turning his gaze towards the Cruor table. He felt a strong feeling of belonging there, the Holocron was right.

The General appears almost suddenly, like a change in the wind brings new scents to a bloodhound's nose.

With a nod, General Reiis Invadator regards the newcomer with the most warmth that would be expected from a Sith Lord.

"Welcome to House Cruor, Luca. I am Co-Head of the House General Reiis Invadator. I lead the House with Dark Lord Grievance Vexx." (@Grievance Vexx).

"Message me privately, Acolyte. There is much to discuss. "
