In orbit above Lianna’s meager continents and vast seas, an interlocking web of gantries, drydocks, fuel tanks and refinery facilities disrupts the homogenous, star-speckled void—The ever-expanding Lianna Fleetyards. Sparks flicker into space from welder droids as they connect durasteel armour plates, slowly turning patchwork metal frames into the Empire’s next generation of warships. Freighters lumber to docking ports, shuttles and transports criss-cross the space between stations and the planet below, and nimble starfighters fly in wedge formation patrolling the perimeter, covering the distances between the handful of guarding Star Destroyers and sentry satellites.
All under the purview of the Imperial Shipyard Guild. Here, members work tirelessly to transition the Imperial StarFleet away from its pre-Typhojem retrofits and post-Typhojem salvages, replacing them with a new line of modern warships. Members will work closely with the Imperial StarFleet, and are expected to be knowledgeable of starship design and construction. Furthermore, members should demonstrate prowess in the arena of space warfare. After all, what good does it do the Empire to have powerful warships if it has no competent commanders to lead them? Such skills will be invaluable as the Empire expands and its conquest targets become even more ambitious.
If you believe yourself to be a capable military strategist or tactician, or a worthy shipwright, the Imperial Shipyard Guild is the place to prove it.

OOC:
Welcome to the Imperial Shipyard Guild! This is where all things spacecraft are handled, from the smallest scout fighter to the largest warships and battlestations. Since this is a brand new era, one of our primary goals is to design a brand new lineup of ships from scratch, including artistic representations and technical specifications. While the IC description above is focused on the Sith side of the galaxy, we are also looking to design ships to fit with the Senate, the Jedi, and independent groups as well.
Our other purpose is to supervise player acquisition of starships. For now, this will be limited to existing ships in the Star Wars universe, but new designs will be made available as they are completed. As you hopefully read on the Q&A post, space travel is far more difficult now compared to previous eras. The resources required to construct, fuel, and crew starships has become much more scarce even as we emerge from the dark age. On the character creation cheat sheet, it states that ships will not be approved on new character sheets; however, this does not mean that you aren’t able to acquire one. Since the bank system has been retired, ships are now considered rewards for participating in RPs. Specific requirements are as follows:

Rank Requirements:
Starships are incredibly valuable in this era, and as such, cannot be given out frivolously to just anyone who asks.

Peon — As the lowest possible rank, Peon’s are not entitled to any personal spacecraft.
Acolyte — Passing the guides and ascending to Acolyte grants a player the option to requisition a starfighter.
Knight — Graduating an apprenticeship and ascending to the rank of Knight makes Corvette-class and Frigate-class ships available as rewards.
Master — Successfully training an apprentice and becoming a Master makes Cruiser-class and Heavy Cruiser-class ships available as rewards.
Lord/Lady — Being promoted to the prestigious rank of Lord or Lady grants access to Star Destroyer-class ships as rewards.
Dark Lord/Lady — Winning a Kaggath and taking a coveted seat on the Dark Council grants access to Battlecruiser-class ships as rewards.
Empress — Being the ruler of the Empire, the Empress is the only character able to use a Star Dreadnought-class ship, since these are scarce, and their resource and crew requirements are very intensive.

RP Requirements:
In addition to rank requirements, there are RP requirements that must be met to prove a player’s worthiness to own and command a starship.

Starfighter — Simple IC requisition RP.
Shuttlecraft — Temporary use in RP, but one comes free with a Cruiser or above (assuming it has a hangar).
Light Freighter — Non-standard vessel, RP required.
Corvette and/or Frigate — Training RP, Duel RP required, or participation in main storyline RP required.
Cruiser and/or Heavy Cruiser — Participation in main storyline RP required.
Star Destroyer — Significant participation in main storyline RP required.
Battlecruiser — Significant and long-standing participation in main storyline RP required.
Star Dreadnought — Unobtainable.

Below, I have provided a summary of the Anaxes War College System to clarify what each ship class entails:
Corvette — 100-200 meters
Frigate — 200-400 meters
Cruiser — 400-600 meters
Heavy Cruiser — 600-1000 meters
Star Destroyer — 1000-2000 meters
Battlecruiser — 2000-5000 meters
Star Dreadnought — 5000+ meters

It is probable that we will flesh this system out with further criteria in the future, but for now, this is our baseline.

If these tasks sound like something that might interest you, or you want to do an RP to obtain a ship, comment your IC name and rank (for your Conquests character) below.
