Biography: Torrey’s parents were refugees of the Yuuzhan Vong War. His father fought as a soldier with the New Republic and his mother was a nurse. She helped both in hospitals and on the battlefield until Torrey’s birth in 21 ABY. After the war they settled down on Coruscant to raise their only child in a nice neighborhood. His father continued in the military and his mother worked for a small private practice. Growing up he was known for picking on other children, especially non-humans. And he was almost always in detention for fighting. Several times he was almost arrested.
At age eighteen his father forced him to join the New Republic Naval forces. He served with well but was constantly written up for various reasons.
During the battle Kashyyyk he was awakened to a higher power. Feeling the Darkness and destruction exuded by Darth Caedus he felt a Darkness rise all within himself. He was so distracted by this dark power that his wingman was shot down shot down by the Corellian Fleet. After that battle he was accused of negligence of duty and was put at the hands of a court-martial. He was found guilty and dishonorably discharged. This was the beginning of his hate for the New Republic.
After his dishonorable discharge he returned to his family who refused to acknowledge him. This led an argument with his parents. As their voices rose, so did his rage. After only a short period of time he began to feel the Darkness again. In a fit of anger he lashed out with his mind towards his mother and father. Instantly their necks snapped dropping them to the floor dead. Realizing what he had done Torrey staged the house to look like a botched robbery and took all of his parents possessions. He quickly bought a ticket off of Coruscant for the cheapest price he could. The ride took him to Nar Shadaa.
Once on Nar Shadaa he bought himself an ancient Z-95 Headhunter. After a few bar fights and interesting conversations he was approached by a Zabrak offering him a job to collect some money he was owed. The job payed off and Torrey began building a reputation. In only two years time he ran into someone offering a job as part of the Smugglers Alliance. The man, named Xoro Siss, wanted hired muscle and Torrey fit the bill. After six standard months he was approached by someone higher in the Alliance to work on the “Jewel of Gija” indefinitely. Torrey agreed and two months later they were off for his first haul. When he was briefed he learned that the shipment was for the Galactic Alliance. Torrey was infuriated. He blamed the GA for his parents death and everything bad that had happened to him since. After all, it was the GA’s fault he was dishonorably discharged, right? They were moving six INCOM XJ3s for the Galactic Federation, but Torrey refused to help move the ships. This led to, yet another argument, which ended with Torrey being personally insulted and commanded to return to his cabin. Torrey seemed to have let it be and stormed off. But alas, it was not so. As soon as he made it out the door he began plotting. Shortly thereafter he came up with a brilliant plan. He made his way down to the cargo hold and started a conversation with the quartermaster who was unaware of Torrey’s argument with the captain. After just a short conversation Torrey pulled his blaster and shot the quartermaster at point-blank range. Immediately when dashed for one of the brand new fighters and jetted out of the hold, firing on the “Jewel” as he left.
Knowing that he couldn’t return to Nar Shadaa or Coruscant he headed for the Inner Rim. For the next standard decade he lived as a nomad. He moved from space station to space station, planet to planet. To make money he would either pirate or take odd jobs from anyone who would hire. He found himself often doing mercenary work or collecting bounties.
One day he stopped in the Kashyyyk system to set a new course. As he was calculating he picked up a distress signal; the perfect opportunity to make some extra cash. He set a new course and headed for the signal. It was coming from a stock light freighter. Nothing too fancy. As he approached it the the ship hailed him. “Need...elp...react...heat...ency...assist...” came a human voice over the comm. As Torrey approached he armed his lasers to further disable the ship. But everything is not what it seemed. As soon as weapons powered up so did the freighters. In fact, it’s shields powered up too. Torrey quickly found himself on the run from a very wall functioning and very well armed freighter. Another message came over the comm, this one perfectly clear. “Unidentified Vessel, cease and desist immediately and prepare to dock. This is Jedi vessel 223-547.” The Jedi! Swearing as he flew Torrey brought his ship about in a big loop. He had to get out of here. And FAST. His mind was racing. What to do, what to do? Sadly Torrey’s skills were no match for the Jedi’s. They quickly kicked in with a tractor beam, drawing him in like a krakana draws in a fish. As the ships moved together Torrey became filled with rage. Filled with the Darkness. As the hatch opened to reveal a two figures, a Quarren and a human Torrey let his rage flow freely. Electricity crackled around his fingers and pooled in his palms. When he felt all the rage move to his hands he simply let it go. Two large blasts of lightning fired at the unsuspecting Jedi burning dark streaks across their chests. Breathing heavily he moved out of the fighter and into the ship. He checked the Jedi for signs of life. The were both dead. Killed instantly in the blast. Torrey looked down at his hands. “I did that?” He thought. “How?” He searched the Jedi for any valuables. He found a marginal amount of credits and he took their lightsabers. Torrey returned to his ship. Shaking his head in amazement as he undocked and jumped to hyperspace. Leaving the grizzly scene behind.
For the next century he moved through the Wild Space and the Unknown Regions keeping himself hidden. By the year 150 ABY he starts hearing whispers of Sith. People with powers not unlike his own. Finally he decided to move back to the galaxy at large. He wanted to find these “Sith.” Upon retuning to the known universe he learned of the many recent wars. He also learned the location of the Sith home world. Making up his mind he set out for Korriban. To learn the truth behind his Dark Power.
