Deathtober Do Or Die House Cruor Death Match
Golgata, the ancient catacombs of Kalee
As darkness falls over the Jenuwaa Sea, a solitary starfighter’s lights descend like falling stars upon the shore. The Coup De Grâce lands smoothly just beyond the reaches of the high tide and its cockpit opens. The hulking figure of a droid built for slaughter emerges. No, not a droid. A cyborg. The alchemized etchings in the armor of Grievance Vexx pulse and swirl with crimson glowing like magma, betraying his excitement. History is about to receive a permanent signature from House Cruor.
The Dark Lord Krigsbefallaf locks down the Coup De Grâce graciously upgraded from its antiquated predecessor shortly after he had found his way to the Empire. Shortly thereafter, he had been accepted as a member of House Cruor. He has silently sworn to do his best to see that this event and its results will please the leader figures of the House, General Reiis Invadator as well as Lord Cruor himself. He nods in acknowledgement of the two Kaleesh warriors who have come to escort him and they bow simultaneously in return.
Though he needs no torchlight to guide him due to his natural ability to see in total darkness, Vexx carries a lit torch and lights the ones in sconces lining the cavernous pathway that leads to Golgata, the place of the skull; ancient catacombs of Kalee where the bones of the planets finest warriors wait to bear witness to a historical show of skill. The attending Cruorites and various masters from other Houses may appreciate the light to guide them through the cavernous halls to where they are invited to take their places to watch and enjoy refreshments. Their presence will be appreciated by those who will be competing soon.
The winding pathway opens up into a vast atrium; a suitable stadium for what is to take place here. The empty eye sockets of the dead stare back at Vexx, perpetual grins of anticipation fixed on their faces. Scattered among them are skulls with yellow eyes shining within the sockets; the eyes of living masked Kaleesh warriors attending this event which honors their very culture. Neither the living nor the dead will be disappointed today.
“Greetings and welcome, Death Knights, Apprentices, and Acolytes!” Vexx’s cybernetic voice rolls like thunder across the vast torchlit tomb, “Welcome to your potential future.” He pauses to allow this cryptic double-edged statement to sink in. “If you fail...that is you.” He gestures broadly to the piles of bones lining the walls. “If you succeed...that is you.” Again, he gestures to the skeletons. “What is the difference, one might wonder? A better question, my friends, would be this: What will make your story live beyond the grave, should it come for you? Think on this; meditate on it. Let it penetrate beyond your mere consciousness until it is all you think about.”
Carrying the torch still in his hand, he touches the flame to a wall-mounted trough filled with muumuu oil on the darkest wall, left dark on purpose until such time. The flame finds the oil and races the length of the trough, lighting the wall and revealing the names of the contenders and with whom they will be dueling, written in the traditional Kaleesh warpaint of karabbac blood. This is where the glory begins.
“Contenders!” the cyborg’s voice rumbles again, drawing all wayward gazes to him once more as he gestures to the wall, “Behold your opponent for the Deadlock—Round One of House Cruor’s Do-Or-Die Death Match! This is where you will be tried and tested to see if you are worthy of being named House Cruor’s champion. You have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fairly overthrow a Dark Lord—Lord Cruak himself—so that you might lay claim to the title and a prize: the Crest of Cruor; a medallion that grants the wearer the Battlemind Force power. In addition to this, the victor will also take possession of the coveted Battleaxe of King Adas. As is custom among most things with the Sith, there is a culling process. Who among you will be washed away and who among you will stand. No name on this wall is written in stone. Only you have the power to change that.”

May the Force be with you, Children of Cruor. Live by the blade; die by the blade!”
