IC: The Sedriss

Curious. His opponent had managed to arise with haste, fully rejuvenated from all damage taken from the Sedriss' Drain. His Mastery of Tutaminis was truly Godlike, matched by only a select few in the entire Empire. But the Sedriss continued unabated. He would not let a little defense stop him from winning this fight. He would be the new Shadow Hand this very day.

But now, he felt an ever so slight tug at his left arm, pulling the great Sword asunder. However, while he couldn't match his opponent in Defense, his was nothing to chuckle at either. He raised two fingers of his left hand to absorb the telekinetic energy emanating from the hand of the Lord of Linguistics, and then he saw it. There was his opening.

When his opponent raised his saber in a downward diagonal swipe, he would meet the Sedriss' Sword head on in a blade lock. Lord Catalyst had no defense left, and the Lord of Pain saw exactly where he needed to strike.

Still blocking with only one arm, his free right hand coalesced into a deep violet yet again as his chest had only moments earlier. It was happening again, and the Sedriss' hunger grew each and every time he performed such an ability. Mere moments after the two crossed blades, the tendrils of recondite Dark energy twisted their way towards the chest and around the body of Catalyst yet again. "No, friend," said the Sedriss. "It is you who does not know when to stay down. Perhaps you should have learned to lose long ago, as I did. You may die for the Emperor, but I will live for him this day and forevermore."

Catalyst's plasma blade ground against the alchemical steel as Nathemus's blade came up to block his strike. The Witch King's words had no meaning at this point. His boasts meant nothing. Catalyst saw the violet tendrils beginning to emerge from Nathemus's hand once more. He knew one more trick, but he'd have to act quickly. Thankfully, blade lock was an element he was far more comfortable with.

As the Force Drain began to encircle him, Catalyst continued to push his defensive capabilities to their limits. His Tutaminis could only protect him so much, but it would prevent his death as he conserved what energy he could. Deliberately dropping to his knee, Catalyst covertly switched his saber off before igniting it once more, bypassing the Sedriss's sword, and attempting to impale the Sorcerer. He breathed hard as he could feel his strength waning. But he had the strength in him for one final, soft-spoken quip. "Kebab... with Nathemustard."

Just when the duel seemed at its most even, with both men of pride struggling to survive this conflict, Kain could hear the last grain of sand fall in the proverbial hourglass. It was time for this duel to end, regardless of the lack of a solid victor.

As Lord Catalyst's swing of the lightsaber neared his opponent, whether the strike would land would forever remain unknown. An unseen hand stopped the lightsaber in its place, and another would separate the contesting Sith Lords. The fires surrounding them died, as did the fallen rancor, which had been absolutely battered by both men.
A voice carried across the destruction, emanating from the lone, dark tower above.

"This contest has reached its end. Lord Catalyst, Lord Nathemus, it would appear this election must be solved through more… nonviolent means. The Emperor has prepared new chambers on the distant world of Durace. We shall decide the victor there. Do not tarry; destiny awaits… one of you, anyway," announced Kain, standing from his throne and giving a respectful bow to his fellow judge of this contest.
"Farewell, Lord Vassago," he spoke much more softly, "Let's not keep the Duumvirate waiting."
