Cantina The Drunk Side - Dreshdae Cantina version 3.0

IC: Na'hir Sanghera
The Drunk Side

It took a moment for her brain to connect the dots, and then she realized why she liked this woman so much. It was the Rose Queen herself. Na'hir sent back a matching grin, thrilled. Tonight was getting better and better.

She threw her head back and laughed, sauntering over with her foaming lum. She presented her hand, just as Jephego had, though she didn't sit. Her hand was much plainer, in deference to the metallic shine of her outfit, with only some midi rings in a silver to match her outfit, and red-painted nails, to match her jacket and lipstick. "I only buy the best spice, if you must know. And I've already been to the club, so it's time for the bar." She smiled indulgently at her fellow smuggler.

"Been on any good runs recently? I-" Na'hir jolted badly at his shout, and snapped her head up, and shrieked herself. "What the kriff!?" she echoed, hand on the blaster she kept in her jacket. "What are you doing up there!?" Na'hir shouted, confused and bewildered.

“Well, greetings and hello to you too,” Vexx grumbles after a decidedly sensitive wince in response to their noise. His grouchy gaze shifts from the man to the woman as they both shriek and swear like he is a wamp rat intruding in the refresher. He might ask them the same question they are simultaneously yelling at him as he sees no cause for such a rude reaction.

“Doing?” he looks puzzled for a moment at the woman’s question, “As I am not dueling or waging war, I suppose I am doing nothing. My apologies for the intrusion. And do not pull that blaster unless you wish to be thrown out faster than you can say ‘bantha poodoo’. Carry on now. Nothing to see here.”

He moves away to another roof joist not quite directly over the heads of the two he has startled, trying to be polite even as he scowls a mouse into fleeing the scene along with a few cockroaches. Dissolving into the shadows but for his eyes and the softly glowing runes in his armor, the Kaleesh is clearly there in passivity despite his threatening presence.

OOC- I have to say, in all the years I have spent lurking in the rafters, this has got to be the funniest reception I have ever received. 🤣

IC: Jephego Rose

Shuddering as Na'hir gasped and shrieked at the ceiling, Jephego pulled her hand away from Rayne's lips. Glancing up, she swore quietly to herself, feeling her hearts race as she saw the cyborg that had nested in the rafters. These crinking Sith, she thought as she straightened her jacket on her shoulders, rolling them and shrugging them. You'd think I'd be used to it by now!

She couldn't lose her cool. Her mouth twitched into a curling smile as she brought her koja-rum to her lips. "You can call me Pirate Queen Jephego Rose." Her thick Zabraki accent was heavy in her mouth, twisting her own name.

"Japhego Rose... Japhego..." he repeated. As he sat back down, he pulled an old-fashioned book and opened it. His pulse was still up from the shock, so he wanted to be off his feet.

He seemed to find what he wanted in the book. "Ah! Japhego Rose. I have it down with an 'f,' but I gather it's 'ph' from your pronunciation." He looked at the notes in his book. He said "Hmmm" and nodded appreciatively. "If this is all true, it's impressive."

He looked to the other woman. "And, what's your name? Do I have an entry for you in here?" He indicated his book by waving it around.

IC: Na'hir Sanghera

Na'hir gathered herself after a moment, embarrassed at her reaction and determined to ignore it. Ugh. Sith. So higher-than-thou. Settled, Na'hir sipped at her lum again, letting its coolness center her. Her hand was off her blaster, at least. Creepy spider-sith was going to be firmly treated as if he wasn't there. Gods above and below, she wasn't sober enough for this.

She stared at the man's old-fashioned book in mild bewilderment. She'd had a few herself, physical copies of a few beloved stories and collections, but to use regularly? Why? They were so easily damaged or ruined. Not to mention bulky. Though it was fairly secure. The only way to figure out what was in it was to steal it.

"Na'hir Sanghera," she answered after a beat. "Though how could I match our Queen of Gilt and Guile?" Na'hir laughed prettily, though she wasn't really expecting anything. The Sanghera name was known. Na'hir hadn't been in the game long enough to get any sort of reputation.

"Sanghera. Sang-air-ah." he pronounced carefully. He flipped through his book to the middle back. He came to the "s" area and paged through it. It wasn't necessarily alphabetical, so that complicated matters. But he found something that matched.

"Chandani Sanghera. Are you related?" He looked through the list of accomplishments. Noting first the occupation. Head of the family corporation. "Wait... are you..." He looked at her quizzically. People born into a family are either screw-ups or overachievers. He wondered which one this one was.

He was sitting here with two women standing at his table. One an obvious success. One a question, but with connections.

"Well, sit, don't sit. It's up to you." He picked up his brew again, and took a drink. He was getting low. Might need to get another soon. "Can I get either of you a refill?"

Winking, Jephego said, "It's Jeph-ego. With an 'eh'. Eh?" She grinned, devilish and devious. Knocking back the rest of her koja-rum, she slammed her glass down on Rayne's table before sitting down, herself. "I'd karking love a refill."

With flourish, Rayne snapped closed his book, finished his ale and snatched up Jephego's glass. He inclined his head in her direction, "Your wish is my command, Jephego." Though privately he wondered if the "ego" on the end of her name was on purpose. He took the glasses up to the bar. He hailed the bartender and asked for another round.

While he waited, he looked up in the rafters. He could scarcely see the one clinging to the ceiling, but he was there. "And, what about you, kind sir? Are you in the mood for some refreshment?"

He also took out a cigar sleeve from another of his pockets. He looked around for ashtrays. If there weren't ashtrays, it was a dead giveaway that smoking wasn't allowed...

Na'hir kept her mouth shut, instead giving him a wide, guileless smile. He could take from that what he liked. She winked when he stood, but kept her drink close. "I'll get one later," she explained, swirling her drink a little.

Taking a sip, she rested her head on her fist as the smuggler offered to buy for the creeper in the ceiling. Generous, perhaps, or calculated. The cigar was unexpected, though she wasn't exactly sure if he was really going to get the drinks with a lit cigar. Then again, Na'hir's MO was to do something, then throw money at the problem until it went away.

She slanted a look at the golden queen, looking for a cue for their next move.

Not expecting to be acknowledged any further after making his presence known so rudely, Grievance Vexx is admittedly surprised when the one who calls himself Rayne offers to include him on the next round of refreshments. He looks suspicious for a moment, eyeing the smuggler as though trying to figure out the motive behind the offer before he makes a response.

“I suppose it couldn’t hurt, so long as the EV unit doesn’t find out,” he replies, speaking of his medical droid, “Tomorrow promises more war and violence, as all tomorrows do. A daelfruit wine, if they have it. Would have to be an import from Kalee, so they may not, in which case I will settle for Corellian whiskey.” He turns away to cover his mouth grate with his forearm, unable to stifle a painful-sounding cough. “Either one might relieve this blasted seasonal irritation. My thanks to you, stranger.”

Rayne had waited long enough. First of all, he didn't see any ashtrays, so he put the cigars away. Secondly, either the bartender was on break or it was self-serve. He preferred to believe the latter. He walked back behind the bar, getting stares from many of the patrons. He just nodded and smiled at them.

Speaking to himself, he said, "She said koja-rum. Koja... koja... koja..." he repeated as he pulled up bottle after bottle, looking at the label. There were different grades of many substances, mostly liquid. He pulled up one, "Ah! Corellian whiskey." He held the bottle up to the one in the rafters, then tipped it over to pour into a waiting shot glass. He put that down at the end of the bar and came back to look for the koja-rum again.

He turned around to look at a different selection. This set appeared to be what was called "top shelf." After bypassing a few bottles, he finally found it. The glass she was drinking out of was a unique shape, so he had to look some more to find it. He found a set that looked clean so he poured it right to the top. He set that down next to the other one and went back to fill up his ale.

Pouring ale from a tap is a relatively straightforward affair, the trick is to get the right amount of head on it. He had had a fair bit of experience. Many parties aboard his flagship after a successful smuggling run. He topped it off with his usual flourish and went back to the end of the bar.

OOC: @Darth Cruor, last chance to "catch me in the act"!

IC: Ingh'rayne Bordst

Rayne now had the problem of anyone buying a round in a bar: three drinks, two hands. Fortunately he had the Force. He used the Force to lift the very full glass of whiskey up into the rafters. Not being very practiced at it, the glass went a bit too fast for his taste to begin with. He got control of it a bout a foot before it reached the cyborg. He then allowed it to float there.

With his two hands, now, he picked up the brew and the delicate glass of koja-rum and went back to the table. He placed the drink down in front of her and said, "the best for you, m'lady. So, what happened while I was gone?"

Draconis
Cantina ~

The cantina was becoming a bit more lively as several new arrivals appeared. The previous conversations with others present had all but dies off unfortunately and Cruor was clearly enjoying his beverage. Draconis took a sip from his goblet, before placing it down. Next to him Cruor was still staring at his blackroot and he wondered if the hulking being had for once given himself a moment of pause as to his intake. His body was probably metabolizing the potent liquid rapidly and would be calling for one more in short order. Still the silence was a bit amusing. The creaking rafters were all too easy a giveaway, not to mention he had noted his presence before he even entered the place. Draconis lifted his finger directing it upward with a swift movement, the waitress passing by did not even notice the large knife on the tray she was carrying fly upward and impact into one of the rafters with a a thud from it impacting. The point of it embedding into the rafter next to Vexx, a little too close perhaps for comfort, but nonetheless a clear acknowledgement that he knew he was there, whether or not others were aware...

The devaronian among thee new arrivals was of some interest.

Vexx braces himself to be doused with whisky as Rayne telekinetically delivers his order. Thankfully, the Devaronian manages to slow it down before it can really dampen the cyborg's spirits. The Krigsbefallaf then reaches down to pluck the glass out of the air and draw it up into the rafters, where he discreetly goes about the unique business of consuming the beverage devoid of the ability to actually taste it.

It doesn't take long for the alcohol to ease the tension that is often a part of the Kaleesh's presence unless he is in combat. The timing for this effect couldn't be worse, however, as a knife thuds into the rafter beside him, incidentally, quite close to his head. His yellow eyes flick to the knife warily before turning downward to where the knife had come from. Catching sight of the familiar--and unexpected-- figure below, Vexx's startled gasp catches in his respirator and triggers quite the coughing spell.

"Greetings, my master!" he wheezes when the coughing subsides, "It has been a while. My thanks to you for aiming at the rafter as I know if that knife was truly intended for me, you would not have missed."

Rayne was pleased the whiskey made its way to the cyborg successfully. He breathed a small sigh of relief. He took a moment to wipe down the bar with a towel left behind the bar. While he was looking away, a heavy thunk and a noise of surprise from the cyborg brought his attention back up. Where once there was empty rafters, now there was a knife stuck close to the cyborg, still vibrating from impact.

To say he was confused was an understatement. More confusing, though, was Vexx' reaction. He seemed pleased at what he found when he looked where the knife had supposedly originated. Rayne followed the sightline to find a light-skinned (almost white) man sipping on a goblet, presumably of beer or lager. He glanced back and forth and considered, if Vexx isn't concerned, I shouldn't be either.

He nodded to the man when he looked over at Rayne. This man seemed familiar. His eyes narrowed as he couldn't place him. He thought, I sense something; a presence I haven't felt since... But he went back to wiping down the bar.

Draconis

A slight tug at the corner of his mouth shows a hint of amusement, as the rasp voice of Vexx echos down from the rafters offering his sincere believe that he missed on purpose.

Draconis looks over to the Gen'Dai who clearly needs another round. His lowered gazes falls nonchalantly on the Devaronioan tending the bar, who seem fixated on his person in an attempt to find the connection. Unable to place or unwilling to admit.

So many had fallen off, so many good discussions and relations. Everyone retreating to different corners of the establishment. Leaving him back to his book, and blood-wine. His eyes pursued the pages finding the place he had been earlier in the evening and resumed. Though while his eyes remained glued to the pages, his mind focused like a dagger upward into the rafters. "How is the vantage point up there?" Draconis offered without breaking from the pages of the book in front of him.
