TASK TWO - KERES DYMOS
Date Started: December 22, 2020
Date Due: January 5, 2021
(extended to January 12)

Sith Library, Korriban

Sith_Library.jpg

She had survived her first task on the ruined world of Corvus, creating her own code and, in turn, understanding the Sith Code better than many ever could. The most basic of steps had been completed, but there were many more to be completed before the more dangerous tasks could begin.

He had summoned her to the Sith Academy's library, sparing her the misfortune of having to speak with the Lorekeeper upon her entrance. Unfortunately, however, Lord Kain had not done anything to prevent her from smelling the old man from the other side of the room.

"This library contains all of the knowledge you will need to complete your apprenticeship," Kain spoke. "And I will provide you your first journey of knowledge in these hallowed halls.
"The Dark Council consists of the utmost powerful beings in the galaxy, and it is required of you to know who they are and how they should be addressed. Many of the galaxy will be celebrating holidays around this time of the galactic cycle, and I don't doubt that you will be as well. So I will give you two weeks to provide a summary of every single member of the Dark Council and their accomplishments."

He chuckled, adding, "At least this time you need not worry about dying of thirst."

IC: Apprentice Keres

Though she managed to keep a blank face while her Master instructed her, Keres couldn’t help gagging a little after he’d vanished. The Lorekeeper’s smell was… truly something. She grimaced at where her Master had been standing, but dutifully started searching for information. Finding a list of the current members of the Council was fairly easy, and knowing their forms of address was similarly available. After all, the Dark Council hardly needed Acolytes and Apprentices bumbling about forgetting who to address or calling the Empress ‘ma’am’. The thought.

But how to choose accomplishments? Keres thought it over in the time she was given, reading, and reading, and reading, sometimes jotting down notes as they occurred to her. All members of the Dark Council had great accomplishments to their name. Still, she had to start somewhere, and her Master was as good a topic of any. But first.

The Dark Council that governs the Sith of our Empire is made of being glorious and wondrous to behold and serve under. Each should be hailed and knelt to, and referred to by name and title. This is only right, as they have proven by might and intelligence to guide and shape our Empire into its full glory. The members of the Dark Council are thus:

Lord Kain. Despite his human looks, it is said that his True Form is so agonizing to look upon that any who does goes mad at once. Lord Kain is also popular within the Empire, known for his affable mien and understanding ways. He has also recently created his own House, dedicated to turning away from ignorance to learning the truth, no matter what horrors it reveals. His sword, alchemized and made with Spirit Ichor, is a beautiful weapon, and just as deadly.

His powers with pyromancy have no match, and he is equally renowned for having the Eye of Typhojem, of which only Lord Dreadwar has its match. But his greatest accomplishment has been his meteoric rise to power, moving from Peon to Dark Councillor, to Tribune, and then to Tetrarch (Empress' Vengeance) within the span of a year.

Lord Xarxes. Lord Xarxes is immediately notable for his immense stature, standing at 7’2 in full armor. His blade, the Sword of Order, is also well-known, releasing a wave of cold when drawn, and instantly freezing whatever it strikes to the core. His armor is said to be made from the souls of damned Arkanians, augmented with Lord Xarxes’ incredible mastery of Art of the Small.

He is well-known for his stoic personality, and for forsaking bodily pleasures for the lofty heights of the mind. Lord Xarxes has incredible dedication to the First Sith Order, shown in his loyalty to House Dreadwar, and to the Empress Hesper.

Lady Traya. The Queen Mother of Dathomir has many accomplishments to her name, and her abilities in Force Illusions are almost iconic, and her ability to seamlessly take on different forms depending on what role she is playing is laudable, though she only rarely takes on the illusion of human legs, preferring her serpentine lower half. Lady Traya is also well-known for her weapons, including two Amphistaffs, Phobos and Demios. Her songsteel-forged Sith sword is said to induce illusions in all who touch its blade, and Lady Traya has been mostly known to use it for knighting ceremonies. Still, all of her weapons are as lithe and as graceful as she is.

Even more well-known is her longbow, carved with runes. With her songsteel arrow, she can create a mighty and terrifying illusion of a hail of arrows headed directly to her target. Said to be absolutely magnificent to behold, though perhaps less so for the doomed soul on the other end of it. More lightheartedly, her love of gizka is well-known, happily granting the Horuset Lounge several crates of them. She has said that one of her greatest achievements was her training of Lady Noxia, a vital and dedicated Councilor.

Lord Nathemus. Native to our own Korriban, Darth Nathemus strikes an imposing figure, always armored, with his poison-dipped Sith sword, said to conduct Force Lightning and other spells, and strong enough to go toe-to-toe with a lightsaber. Strikingly, Lord Nathemus does not use a lightsaber, but more than makes up for it with his mastery over his blades and mind-based Force techniques. There are rumors that he used to be less well-regarded within the Empire, but all can see that he is a stalwart and fierce protector of our Emperor, and an upstanding member of House Dreadwar as well.

Along with his weaponry, Lord Nathemus also has several pets, including two Sith battle hydras, and, incredibly, an undead star dragon, said to measure 150 feet in height. It is, for obvious logistical reasons, not commonly seen. Of his great tasks and accomplishments, two rise to mind. First, of being chosen to be then-Emperor Dreadwar’s Herald, and later, to be chosen as his Shadow Hand, which continues to this day under Empress Hesper. Truly, Lord Nathemus is a credit to the Empire, and its staunchest protector.

Lady Noxia. A well-liked Councilor, even before she took part in the Kaggath, she now heads both the Sphere of Records and the Sphere of Arts and Culture. Despite her young age, she has accomplished much, and currently has nine planets under her personal dominion, which gives her access to incredible wealth and resources.

Lady Noxia is also known for her adherence to the hierarchy of the Empire, and her watchful eye has led to the punishment of many an acolyte or apprentice who thought they could flout the rules for one reason or another. Of her accomplishments, her two greatest have been her work in the Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy, building our Empire to 6,000 strong in 2019, and her ascension to Tribune of the Sith.

Lord Cruor. Perhaps the most intimidating Councilor, and perhaps the most ancient, he has many accomplishments that other Sith could never hope to achieve. His skull-like Hendanyn death mask is frightening enough for any peon, and coupled with the armor and battle axe of King Adas, Lord Cruor can strike fear into even the mightiest of enemies. His reputation of killing anyone who gets in his way, or betrays the Empire, is well-known. Despite this, he is also known to be a fair hand to those in his service, willing to put his considerable assets behind them if he deems them worthy.
Though his early life is relatively unknown, the Gen’Dai is said to have studied under the Left-Handed God himself, Typhojem. Of his accomplishments, it could be said that his greatest was his hand in the creation of our own First Sith Order, over fifteen years ago. With Lord Cruor’s help and tireless dedication, this group has survived and grown in ways that other groups rarely do.

Lord Xxys. A fairly mysterious Councilor, Lord Xxys’ most striking feature is his cybernetic arm. This arm holds many mysteries, all of which, it is presumed, are only known to Lord Xxys himself. It is rumored that his arm has anything from poison to blasters in it, or even a second lightsaber. But, that is for Lord Xxys to know, and for some poor enemy to find out in a horrible surprise.

Though details are scarce, it is also known that Lord Xxys was apprenticed to Darth Vader himself. Now, as a Councilor, Lord Xxys is an accomplished pilot, able to handle most any spacecraft, and an expert fighter, especially in swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat. Like others, he has acknowledged his ascension to Dark Councilor as one of his greatest achievements. Along with that, his hard work in the Sphere of Expansion to grow our Empire is an incredible accomplishment in its own right.

Lord Hypnos. Possibly our most varied Councilor, this brilliant Shard has a love of knowledge and wordplay possibly unmatched in our Empire. While details of his life are hazy, it is plain to see that Lord Hypnos has devoted his life to the pursuit of knowledge and wordcraft. Despite not being a particularly sociable Sith, he is known for his love of puns and riddles, and engaging in intelligent conversation with others.

His skill with technology and droids is unmistakable, and one only has to look at the variety of robotic bodies he’s built for himself to understand that. And with those bodies, he’s helped shape our Empire since the beginning. He was the first Tribune of the Dark Council, and ushered in the next age of the Empire. And of the Councilors, only he can lay claim to longest cumulative service on the Council itself. In fact, only he and Lord Dreadwar can claim that they both served on the very first Dark Council.

Lord Draconis. A relentless and deadly Councilor, Lord Draconis has had a long life within the Empire. Rumored to be apprenticed under Lord Vassago, one of the most powerful Dark Lords to exist, and the leader of the New Sith Order, the precursor to our own Empire. Lord Draconis has also been said to be an avid student of ancient texts and lore, seeking out ancient, lost, artifacts. And that during this time, he studied under Lords Cruor and Nemesis to further hone his craft.

In his time in the Order, he ascended to Lord Vassago’s second-in-command, and is said to have been his Lord’s most deadly assassin, and his most trusted advisor. And amongst those achievements is his resurrection of Lord Cruor after his mysterious exile. His unbending will makes him a formidable and terrifying foe, and a great asset to our Empire.

Lord Pravum. A fashionable Councilor, Lord Pravum can always be spotted in distinctive Nabooian fashion. Unlike other Councilors, Lord Pravum does not have incredibly intimidating stature to augment his power, but he also does not need it. Born to an aristocratic family, he exhibits all traits associated with his upbringing. He is well-mannered, well-educated, and with the political know-how to manipulate any situation to his advantage.

Indeed, even before he became a Sith, Lord Pravum was acquainted with Empress Volshé, who had named him her godson and granted him the peerage title of Marquess of Kaadara. Like others, he has been honored to rise to the seat of Councilor, though that is not his only accomplishment. Along with that was the Calipsa campaign, where as a newly-minted Sith Lord, he took a fleet of Star Destroyers to the planet Calipsa in the Tapani sector and single-handedly brought House Calipsa to heel. Naturally, he discarded the hereditary title of High Lord, and crowned himself Great Lord of House Calipsa.

Keres hesitated. Technically, that was the entirety of the Dark Council. The Empress herself was above them. But it was the Empress who drew Keres to this path, whose power and deadly force had made her realize that there was more for her, and her power, than being the wife of a minor lord. She kept writing.

Empress Hesper. Our reserved Empress keeps her cards close to her chest, but some things are still known to us. Her work in the Telekinetic side of the Force is as great as the sea, and as powerful. Her ability to manipulate the world around her to her liking has no equal. Her ability to use Darksight has been compared to a god, and her abilities in Farsight, Precognition, Shatterpoint, and Psychometry are unrivaled. Along with that, her martial abilities are much-lauded, and her fighting is said to be so beautiful to watch that it is like living art.

Outside of her abilities, the Empress has also been known to be a patroness of the arts, and even partaking of them herself. Her accomplishments are many, but a few stand out. One is that she has occupied every seat within the Dark Council: Tribune, Tetrarch, Councilor, and, now, Empress. She was also apprenticed to Lord Dreadwar himself, and created the forums we use today. And one of her more spectacular accomplishments was her absolute slaughter of the Senate, where she single-handedly killed hundreds and shattered the Republic. And, one mustn’t forget, that Empress Hesper was elected to her position, with overwhelming support from the Dark Council.

TASK THREE - KERES DYMOS
Date Started: January 14, 2021
Date CS Due: January 21, 2021

Training Arena, Unknown World

The two apprentices awoke in a stir. Their worlds faded into existence simultaneously, a certain drowsiness causing a blur in their vision that slowly dissolved. Things became clearer. The sound of machinery working beneath the floor clanged and boomed. An odor of sulfur perforated their noses. They were in some enclosed area, with giant statues of warriors staring down at them.

"Apprentice Keres Dymos," the familiar voice of Darth Kain loomed. "Apprentice Vesuvius Adromedus." That was who stood across from her, on the other side of this arena.
"Apologies for the rude awakening. But I'm afraid the greatest of threats will not care whether or not you are sleeping.
At the behest of Vesuvius' master, Knight Omegon, you two will duel for five turns. Whoever is deemed the winner, based on activity and whosoever has the more advantageous position at the end of the duel, will receive a whopping 10 Prestige. The loser will receive an amount of prestige based on their effort, and how close the duel was."

They would find only one weapon before each of them: their own. It would have to suffice.

"Begin."

OOC:
Character Sheets will be in the FSO format, and posted to this thread upon being approved by me via PM. Once both sheets are posted, the first to have their CS approved will have the first move. This duel will last for five turns for each of you, unless one of you yields before then. This will test both your writing abilities and your ability to follow the rules, such as the standard "No Godmodding" and "No Autohitting."

IC: Keres Dymos

Training Arena, Unknown World

Name: Keres Dymos

Nicknames/Aliases (optional): N/A

Rank: Apprentice

Class: Sorcerer

House: Vassago

Age: 29

Sex: Female

Species: Human

Orientation (optional): Demisexual

Homeworld: Cesta, Tapani Sector

Occupation: Nobleman’s wife (widowed)

Height: 5’4

Weight: 125 lbs

Physical Description: Deceptively dainty, Keres has a heart-shaped face and large eyes. With her pitch-black hair always carefully pulled back and her lips painted a sharp, crimson, red, she looks more like the politician’s wife she used to be than a Sith in her own right.

Keres prefers simple clothing, usually in the style of an ao dai, usually in red and black. Given the choice, her clothing is flattering but modest. Her favored ornaments are hairpins, usually in gold.

Weapons: A slim, elegant lightsaber.

Equipment/Vehicles: N/A

Pets (optional): N/A

Languages: Basic, Huttese. A smattering of ancient Sith.

Description of Abilities: She has been trained in Shii-Cho and Makashi, but has not mastered either form. Her skill with a blaster is mediocre and self-taught. She has some ability in pyrokinesis, enough to use in a fight.

Strengths: Having spent a great deal of her life either observing her parents’ political machinations or assisting her husband’s, she is adept at using words to change the course of things to get what she wants. She mostly wins others over with warmth and affection.

Flaws: Her life on Cesta, while turbulent, was widely sheltered from the wider galactic sphere, and her experience with other cultures, lifeforms, and planets is thin on the ground. While manipulative and crafty, Keres doesn’t have the experience to plan far ahead. She can win the battle, but not the war. Along with that, because her warmth and friendliness is usually feigned, her loyalty is unreliable.

Relationships/Love Interests (optional): Light flirtations with Knight Aaric, though if anything is going to come of it, it’s going to be a long time coming.

Biography: Her story began as others did: with birth. Her mother, laughing, loved to retell the story of the fierce storm that had rattled the windows as she strained in labor. The last push, and a crack of lightning so close as to raise the hair on their arms. That had brought a last-minute change of names for her babe, from Jokaste, to Keres. Lightning-struck. Sometimes, it was more apt than it seemed. As a child, she had scorched walls and clothes with her rare tantrums. A burning curiosity had caused more than one jar or plate to wobble off the counter. It was not talked about, and Keres seemed to grow out of it soon enough.

Her parents were merchants, young and ambitious. Her mother owned textile mills, providing rich brocades and fine laces for the nobles of the Cadriaan system, and eagerly taking the chance to mingle with higher society. Her father was an equally ambitious merchant, from a family of freeworld merchants who had been granted titles two or so generations ago. But there was a balance there, ambitious, but not so much as to appear grasping. Servile, but not so much as to be invisible. Keres watched these interactions, large eyes taking in everything.

Her life progressed apace, neither exciting nor dull. Neither impoverished nor luxurious. In class, she was similarly suspended. When revolutionary students raised their voice, she turned her eyes away from their fiery gaze. When students spoke holy hymns to the nobles who strutted in front of them, she became deaf.

Her life continued, sedate. In time, she was given charge of a small textile mill, which made the lace trims for noble gowns and other items. She moved out of her parent’s house. It was a quiet, unambitious existence. The business grew slowly under her, exactly at the pace Keres could handle. At twenty-two, she finally allowed herself her heart’s desire: a child. She searched databases extensively, comparing DNA, predispositions, phenotypes, compatibilities.

Nine months later, she had her babe in her arms, warm and alive. It was the happiest she’d ever been. Her mother was thrilled, though her father gave the child a strange, flat look. She ignored it. Her siblings would marry well or inherit the business. Keres’ life would be small, exactly the way she wanted. Everything held in the palm of her hand, exactly as she desired.

“No? No,” she insisted, months later, eyes darting between her father’s imploring gaze and her mother’s shamed but determined expression. The argument continued, late into the night. In the morning, servants woke Keres and dressed and primped her.

Her guest awaited her in the front parlor, a smile she would almost call a smirk on his face. Her red lips smiled. Her eyes did not.

“My lord, of course I am happy to accept your proposal of marriage.”

Her lord husband, a son of a minor branch of the Cadriaan House, had ambitions, and those ambitions cost money. Keres’ family was wealthy and angling for status.

At best, their marriage was cool. At worst, petty. He would complain about the money he spent to keep her on his social level. Keres would roll her eyes and make pointed comments about overcompensation. Her only solace was her child, her little flame, living in her parent’s home. Keres never spoke of the child to her husband, though she knew he knew the child existed. She visited frequently.

Holos spread the news far and wide of the Butcher of Coruscant. A Sith. The videos, the pictures, horrifying. The absolute silence of a thousand dead bodies. It lingered in her mind, looping again and again. What brutality. What savagery.

What power.

Life proceeded again. Cold, empty, but existing. They stayed in separate wings of the house. And then- an illness, her child, her warmth, her flame, extinguished. Her husband was furious that she grieved.

They fought.

They fought again.

Until it came out, one night,

That little brat of yours deserved it!” he’d screamed, spittle flying out of his mouth. She’d paused in throwing her sharpest hairpins at him. “Do you know what it cost to poison him?

Keres had stilled, and felt something in her snap, very quietly, and she clutched her jewelry box tighter, as if it were a shield against his truth. A poison, to mimic illness, to kill her child. A child of her body, one that she had chosen, that she had created.

Her husband had been triumphant, eyes glittering that he had finally crushed her under his heel.

A hate filled her, so great it blocked out everything else, a sort of serenity. A layer of ice atop a boiling lake. She remembered the silent bodies. The power of a single woman.

It seemed that she blinked, and stood outside the manor, eyes watering from the smokey air. The jewelry box was warm in her hand. It was ugly, and she hated it, but it would fetch a good price.

She turned, and kept walking.

Throughout her childhood, Sol was subject to constant torment from her father, who physically and emotionally abused her. As a result, Sol became completely detached from her emotions. She was kept shuttered from the outside world for most of her life, never properly developing social skills. She received a full education through private tutorship from the ages 5-14. At the age of 14, she was admitted to the University of Ov Taraba, and four years later, at the age of 18, she graduated with a degree in Philosophy. This was her first experience outside of the palace without constant supervision. While studying at Ov Taraba, she met a boy named Braell Jinzle, who became her first love. Shocked at the emotion she felt for him after a life completely closed off from her feelings, in a fit of passion she accidentally killed him, discovering her Force sensitivity in the process. It was at this time that she finally committed to escaping Onderon and her father out of fear of retribution for murdering Braell, as well as fear that her fate would be the same as her mother’s. Sneaking aboard a cargo freighter, she spent the next half year hiding in shipments, until one day she began to feel a calling to a particular freighter, destination Korriban. Upon arriving on Korriban, she enrolled in the Sith Academy. Soon after, she began her Apprenticeship under Knight I-Ron Butterfly, where she currently remains.

With both characters sheets approved and posted, the duel may begin. As @Keres Dymos posted her sheet first, she has the first move. As said before, each of you will have five turns. Use them wisely.

First move is due before January 31, 2021.

Keres blinked, trying to make the unnatural drowsiness go away. The sulfuric air was stifling, and her Master’s voice was like a hammer to her skull. Gritting her teeth, Keres got to her feet, keeping her eyes on Apprentice Kira. At her Master’s command, Keres grabbed her saber and leapt back, keeping her distance.

She knew little about the other woman, other than she was apprenticed to Knight I-Ron, and more experienced than Keres herself. They seemed to be a similar height and weight, though that would mean little in a duel using the Force. The brand on her cheek suggested she had lived a harder life than Keres (not a particularly high bar, it could be admitted) and she might be stronger than her slight appearance suggested.

Her powers, unfortunately, worked best in close quarters, even though her raw strength did not match that of an apprentice with more training than she. Would that she could tire her out with long-range attacks before getting in close for the final blows. Alas, she would have to settle for planning instead.

Her saber lit, Keres tried to prod delicately at Apprentice Kira’s mind as she moved forward, trying to see if she could suss out her opponent’s next move, even as she swiped at Kira’s legs. Makashi was meant for leverage and clever footwork, and Keres could only put her trust in her training and in the Force that it would keep her safe as she tried to bring other powers to play.

It was unlikely, given her build, that she would use Ataru, but Keres kept it in the back of her mind. If, as Keres suspected, Kira used either Makashi or Soresu, they could stay locked in defensive combat longer as Keres looked for an opening.

Sol rolled over onto her stomach, the sudden transfer across space was something she still hadn’t gotten used to, even after having gone through it before. She pushed herself up, allowing herself a moment to gain her balance before taking in her surroundings.

The room was quite hot and confined, and reeked of sulfur. She leaned down to grab her saber off the ground, and finally looked at her opponent. She hadn’t yet met Apprentice Dymos in person, and didn’t know much of her abilities. Sol ignited her saber, lightly spinning it in her hand as she waited for the other woman to attack first. Her skills, after all, worked best in defense. She felt as the woman attempted to prod into her mind, and she pushed back at the feeling with her own telepathy, not wanting to give any indication as to what her plans were.

Then, Apprentice Dymos swiped at Sol’s legs. She stabbed her saber down quickly to block the move, and as she did, she felt the familiar throb in her head that had normally preceded her deadly sight. Knowing this, Sol quickly looked up at the other woman, attempting to stare into her as her eyes shifted from a bright blue, to an emerald green, and finally, to a deep amber color.

Keres was annoyed that her telepathic attempt was blocked, but not surprised. They stayed for a moment in combat while Keres thought. Defensive combat was all well and good, but neither of them were going to win that way. Something had to change.

And it did, just not in Keres’ favor. Something flickered. In the Force, in her peripheral vision, Keres didn’t know, but she did look up, instinctively trying to find it. Her eyes landed on Apprentice Kira’s face, and she hissed and turned away. She couldn’t help it. The deep amber hurt to look at, and Keres’ eyes stung. Utilizing a bit of footwork, Keres twisted around Sol Kira, trying to stay behind her so she could recover. Her eyes hurt, and it took too much blinking to focus again. Obviously, she’d have to be more cautious, and keep her eyes away from Apprentice Kira’s face, especially since Keres had no idea how long she could hold it, or how many times she could use it.

Either way, she didn’t have the time to ruminate on it. Her respite was over, it was time to think again, using Makashi to try to force Kira’s arm to extend while Keres’ free hand heated. Her goal was the inner elbow, which not able to do permanent damage, might weaken her enough to get her saber away.

Sol turned quickly, keeping her eyes on Dymos, not wanting to let her guard down. She continued her glare, keeping her saber up to block any attack that would come her way.

She sensed Dymos’ use of an ability, and regardless of what it was, she used it to her advantage. Focusing on her breathing, she began using Feed on Dark Side to keep her energy up so that the deadly sight wouldn’t wear off soon, as well as not tire her as quickly.

As she continued to do this, Dymos struck at her with her saber. Sol shot her own saber up, parrying her strike and sending her own horizontally towards Dymos’ other extended arm.

Almost immediately, it was clear her feint wouldn’t work. That was the problem with fighting someone more experienced, they could react faster, and keep spells up longer.

When Apprentice Kira’s saber struck out, Keres leapt back. Hard. She skidded back, into one of the more shadowy corners of the arena. Unexpectedly, she stumbled, a sudden weariness tugging at her. The frustration from the duel and low-level anger she carried with her everywhere felt strange. She narrowed her eyes. She’d heard of this power. She wouldn’t have much time left.

Keres sank deeper into the shadows, letting it and her power help shield her so that she could get the best aim.

Sol watched as Apprentice Dymos skidded away into the corner and hid in the shadows. It enveloped around her, and Sol knew she wouldn’t have much time to defend herself. She breathed in and out, focusing on her mind and channeling her anger away from using deadly sight and towards something else.

She attached her saber to her waist holster, freeing both of her hands. She stepped towards Keres and used her force blast, focusing it towards Dymos’ direction.

Keres forced herself to breathe deeply, but slowly. There was no time for panicked breaths, and she had to keep her eyes on Apprentice Kira. It wasn’t perfect, since those eyes could still catch her, but Keres wasn’t stupid enough to look around and take in the scenery.

There! Keres jumped again, clinging to the shadows once more. The attack had been thankfully off, or she would have likely been grazed, if not hit. Dropping her shadow armor, Keres moved her hands in a circle, dredging up every scrap of anger and hatred still in her.

“Sutta Chwituskak!” she snapped, sending the green bolt for the other apprentice.

Sol jumped quickly out of the way of the green bolt, rolling on the ground and landing in a crouched position. She shot her eyes up to Apprentice Dymos, her armor no longer protecting her.

Sol stood, focused on the dark energy surrounding her, and pulled it in to energize her once more. With her energy from the feed on dark side, she threw another force blast at Dymos.

Weak-kneed, Keres breathed heavily as Apprentice Kira dodged her blow again. This was infuriating. Tragically, she had no time to mull over this, forcing herself to move, to augment her leap to get farther from the blast.

It brought her into closer range with the other apprentice. Not lightsaber dueling close, but close. Keres lit her saber again, keeping careful watch on Kira to see how she would attack again.
