IC: Sage Master Avalon

Under a lonely spotlight does the white-robed wraith knot his brow in concentration, channeling the ethereal ocean to peer upon its volatile streams, to view places far away and far—or perhaps not so far—into the future. Rather than seat himself on the command bridge, Master Avalon sealed himself within his meditation chamber with nothing but the low, peaceful whirr of his mental hoverchair for company. It was an advanced system built from the architectural and technological knowledge of Jedi, Sith, Jal Shey, and the ancient Rakatans, and it served as the foremost answer to the Sith meditation sphere, concealing his presence and boosting his power just as they did. The helmet’s lights tinged his periphery with an azure glow as the system remained active. But it only mattered when he wasn’t using it. For his perceptions extended far beyond the meditation chamber, far beyond the mesopelagic glow that encircled him. Any other could accompany him within the chamber, and watch as he worked. It had no screen per se, using the segmented silvery bricks inlaid to create a replica, or one comprehensible to non-Forceful, of what Avalon saw.

And he saw very much indeed: workers and troops and Kuati loyalists packing ships with as much equipment, supplies, and ammunition as their bulkheads could bear; pilots quadruple-checking their fighter systems; officers directing the effort from within their respective command placements; engineers peering with eyes well-trained to spot structural and technological weaknesses. It was moving efficiently.
But not as efficiently as it could.
He knew why, for he could feel very much as well: he could feel the anxiety so strongly. He was not indifferent himself to the razor butterflies that persisted during such risky tactics and prior to the inevitable confrontation. When it exploded into combat—and he was sure it would—the adrenaline that pumped through each and every soldier might be as high amperage electricity pumping through their veins, or it might be like a corrosive toxin, eating away at the will to go on and poisoning the rest of the body. He could not afford to use his energy maintaining their morale; he would need every ounce of it.

The future was perpetually a vertiginous tangle of possibilities, and viewing each and every one was often a jarring and needless endeavor. Certainty came so quickly when it portended the path of tragedy. So deeply had Avalon peered upon the water’s reflections that he was pulled within, and he had seen jagged ships sailing its tenebrous seas, carving through the darkness in brilliant cerulean whorls that cradled an evil much darker than the cosmos.

Avalon, using the enhanced telepathy granted by the meditation chamber, touched the minds of every commander and flashed them with a warning. As preparations were made, he sunk into Battle Meditation, those muscles so finely sculpted that he did not even need to form an image to affect the flow of the Force. At once he kindled his force’s hearts with the cold, cosmic flame that succors in wanhope and distress. Eddies of calm and determination swirled throughout the entire fleet till it turned as one. With the natural bonds of life strengthened through Jedi Battle Meditation, each being of every ship felt as the limb of a whole body, the Enhanced Coordination of which made them primed perfectly to respond to and counter any threat.

And quite a threat indeed emerged. Like the clawed, curved digits of a cosmic colossus, Sith ships slammed into realspace with a sonorous thunder that barraged Avalon’s Force-scouring ears. Had they not been bolstered by Avalon, the Federation fleet may have been broken there and then by the brobdingnagian push dagger that aimed straight for them. But they did not despair, and guided by a great mental hand they met the Sith head-to-head, responding exactly to their tactics as their enemy did so, setting out to stifle them with perfect precision and alacrity.

Avalon reached out with his will and began to assault the minds of his enemy, seizing them with confusion and fear. Every missed shot was sure to be a harbinger of many more; every pilot suddenly became immensely doubtful of their own ability; and every commander suddenly felt a great absence begin to overtake the part of the mind where experience, strategy, and tactics lied. The Sith themselves might withstand more than their troops, but they were by no means immune.

And yet, no ripples upon the Force could be detected, nor did the Jedi master glow like a star within the Force like one might expect. Not even the ship where Avalon was aboard could be detected, cloaked from sight and sensor as it was, well outside of visible range. By all means, it might have appeared as if the Sith were simply immensely unlucky.
And worse still, great swarms of fighters erupted from hangar bays, while yet the original crew awaited orders inside the safety of their hangars. An arcane Fallanassi technique, redolent of the evil illusion magic the Sith employed, conjured a deadly illusory force. For every enemy that believed them to be real, they became such.

Their own methods had been turned against them.

But that was not all the fleet had to offer: Brilliant, powerful, luminous beings were preparing their own assaults.

And thus the battle for Kuat had begun, bathed in psychic fire.

RAVENCROWN FLEET

The view from his private residence aboard the BLOODREIGN was stunning. The planet Korriban filled the lower half of the view port like a massive pool of blood, and the stars that dotted the encircling nebula crowned the planet.
It was the Empress herself who called Xxys in the dead of the night cycle, and as the holographic projection of the diminutive woman crackled to life the Dark Lord rose from his seat (he rarely slept most nights) and fell to one knee, head bowed.

“Hail the Empress!” he looked up to see her face wore a serious expression that meant this was no social call. “To what do I owe the honor, my Liege?”

Her voice was curt and professional as always, and as always it commanded respect.
“Good evening, Lord Xxys. I will dispense with the pleasantries and cut right to the heart of the matter. As of three days ago, the Jedi dared to make a lunge at Kuat Drive Yards– no doubt a move to supply their camps at the other battlefronts across the galaxy. We had thought it to be something else, but it is clear now this is an act of war.”

Xxys had seen the reports of the raids but had chalked it up to pirates, and as neither the Empire or the Federation actually owned the historically neutral shipyards, there had been little need to intervene in the profiteering of small time raiders, however the Empress had resources far beyond his own, so it was no surprise she had a better overview of the reality of the situation… such was her power.

She continued, “The frontier is heating up, Lord Xxys, and our forces are already engaged on several fronts, from the root of this war on Ossus, and on Coruscant and Dantooine. Now, with this raid on the Drive Yards, I know we are ready to send our fleets into the fray of this war!”

She said the last word with an emphasis that said she not only welcomed the conflict, but had no doubt of Imperial victory. Her voice became low and foreboding.

“This is the final step in securing the Sith’s dominion over the galaxy, and ending the scourge that is the Jedi order once and for all.”

Xxys could feel the Empress’s hate radiating through the Force, and even across the vast distance separating them, it filled the room… such was her power.

“Scramble your fleet, Darth Xxys. Go to Kuat, crush these Jedi raiders, and secure the planet before the Jedi can gain any more materiel.”

Xxys’ voice was filled with certainty as he replied, “All will be as you command my Queen. The RAVENCROWN fleet is ready to deploy and is brimming with pilots eager to spill Jedi blood. I will…”

The Empress cut him short and Xxys could feel the pressing weight of her stare through the hologram…such was her power.

“Save your speeches for the troops, Lord Xxys. I am only interested in results. I want to see the fleet warping out within the hour, and Jedi heads on my throne room floor within the week.”

Her tone made clear no response was needed.

“May the Force serve you well, and good hunting.”

The Empress cut the transmission from her end before he could reply yet still he bowed and made his obedience…such was her power.
As the hologram winked out the cabin fell silent and Xxys rose from his knee and returned to the console he had been sitting at. Flicking a switch on the station the screen flickered to life and the familiar face of his second officer appeared.

“Time to spread our wings, commander. Ready the fleet for immediate warp out and have the crews get to their fighters. Our destination is Kuat.”

Now

The shipyard was huge, even by the standards of the Empire. A blue/green world completely encircled by a massive ring space station. The station itself was a marvel of engineering and the vessels being fashioned there were the very best the science of the day could devise. Nothing was run through the mill of mass production. No, these were the finest warships ever crafted. Engineering specialist from around the galaxy had been assembled, and well paid, to ply their knowledge and expertise to the creation of these weapons of war.

The RAVENCROWN fleet had matriculated in that very shipyard.

The fleet had been commissioned by the Dark Lord Xxys to serve as the vanguard of The Empire, and too become his new mobile base of operations. The silent hand of death to any system that dared oppose the Empress. The Imperatrix had given her blessings on the new fleet, and the name was a reflection of his noble house Vassago, and Empress Hesper, whom the fleet ultimately served.

Like it’s namesake the RAVENCROWN fleet arrived in the Kuat system like impending doom. All at once the fleet boomed into the sector from hyperspace, flooding the lanes the fledgling fleet come home to roost, and protect its former nest.

“I want complete domination of the hyperspace lanes in this sector! No one enters, no one leaves without clearance!” Xxys sat in the command chair of the BLOODREIGN, several tactical and strategic monitors fed him instantaneous information, displaying how the fleet was arranged as well as fighter squadrons command and movements.
“All squadrons to launch immediately once on station and have the INTERDICTORS activated so we don’t get any surprises!”
He took a few moments to observe the initiation of the blockade then flipped a switch on his console and instantly the Image of his newly appointed Admiral, and commander of the ECHIDNA, Volacius appears.

Aboard the ECHIDNA

"Hail Lord Xxys!" Volacius boomed proudly. This was to be his finest hour, the time where he could finally fulfill his purpose. Years of training, honing his skills with the Force and studying the tactics of countless commanders from dozens of wars across history, all the prepare him for this day. Now, thanks to the opportunity that Lord Xxys had so graciously afforded him, he would lead the charge against the Jedi, and he would not stop until he had burned the Jedi and their precious Federation to cinders, and brought Kuat bow on its knees before the Empress. "Our glorious fleet is already moving to lock down key positions and secure the sector. Sensor sweeps indicate that several large warships are still in the inner ring, and a few more are cruising the edge. I will have my crew working around the clock until we can get positive identification on these vessels." The Admiral looked down to his own monitors then responded to a question off screen.

"My Lord, there are at least three heavy cruisers and their escorts that are changing course and assuming an offensive formation," Volacius reported swiftly. "They're launching fighter wings!"

IC: Jedi Master Taron Solo Ka'Kol

Hangar Bay 13

Inside the Homebound Pariah

Kuat System

Taron climbed the ladder and settled in as the magnetic crane lifted Snarky up and locked him into the astromech socket of the Stealth-X. He looked around and took in the sights and smells and sounds. A hangar bustling with the life of imminent combat in the vacuum of space. Tibanna gas and hydraulic fluid. Grunts and the cranking of hydro-spanners. He couldn't help but smile as he donned his helmet and started the pre-flight checks for his fighter.

"You seem to be in a chipper mood for someone who may be about to die."

The words flashed across his screen ad Snarky beeped and tweedled in his socket.

"Well, not that you'd care anyway. They'll just jam your processors in a new chassis and you'll carry on about your way pestering some other poor Jedi Master. But yes. I am in a good mood, Snarky. It's a good thing we're doing. And a victory here is going to be monumental for the campaign. The drive yards are pivotal for equipping a Space Navy. So do me a favor, and don't rain on the parade. You're not an embalming droid. You're an astromech. How're the engines looking?"

"Operating at full spec, boss. Weapons systems are good, Shadow Bombs are good to go, shield generators are overcharged and holding solid. All systems are five by five." Snarky chirped and beeped, the words flashing across the screen. Snarky always called him boss. Not Master, not Taron, but Boss. Taron didn't know why, but he'd never questioned it. It was part of what made the cynical little plug-shaped Droid so much fun to have around, at least to Taron. Others could find him abrasive and rude.

"Good. Then we're set to go." Taron said. He switched his comms over to an open Federation channel and spoke to all Squadrons and Pilots. "Good morning, aviators. This is Ganner One. You all know the battle plan and order of battle. Wings, stay on your leads, keep on your objectives. Escorts, keep the Fighters off, but don't leave your bombers. Take them all the way to target. Don't let you becoming an Ace cause the bombers to miss their mark or not make it there with enough birds to sink the bad boats. Stick to your jobs, and nothing you do will be in vain."

He switched over to the Ganner Squadron only channel, a scrambled and cloaked channel, all but undetectable by even the best intercept gear. "Ganner, this is One. Run pre-flights, power up systems, and check in when ready to go. Let's make this one count."

"Very motivational, Boss. That one will go down in the history books, I'm sure. I, for one, am much more comfortable becoming space debris after that."

Taron laughed as he switched off his comms. "Can it, you little spark plug, or when we get back I'll have them modify you to be Master Soss' personal garbage compactor. And I don't need to tell you about the Trandoshan diet"

IC: Padawan Kalum Alde

Hanger 13, Homebound Pariah

“Okay there little guy, how does that feel now?”

Buzzer warbled and spluttered incoherently, the repair attempts that Kalum had made on the little astromech having little to no effect on the droid’s damaged audio circuits. “Well, I gave it a shot. You’ll still be able to hook up to the on-board computer and talk through it though, right?” Kalum asked, watching the astromech closely. Buzzer bobbed up and down, his best attempt at nodding. “Ok then, we better get moving.” Buzzer attempted to reply, but all that came out was the characteristic buzz that had given the R2 unit his nickname. Kalum closed the droid’s maintenance panel, returned the hydrospanner to its toolbox, and sprang to his feet. Hanger techs and other federation pilots moved out of the way as he jogged across the hanger towards his StealthX, awaiting its pilot. He could see his Master, and Ganner Leader, Taron Solo Ka'Kol, climbing into his own ship. The hanger techs that had been fuelling and loading the fighter gave Kalum a hand signal that he was good to go, and he responded in kind, climbing the ladder that led into the cockpit. He sat down as one of the techs tossed his flight helmet up, and took a deep breath.

This was it.

His first real mission. He’d only flown this ship a few times in training exercises. He was a rookie. And he knew it. Even the little astromech he’d been partnered with was new to him, although according to the quartermaster, the droid had been around for a long time. A few of the techs had sniggered to themselves when they saw that Kalum had been assigned Buzzer as his astromech. He supposed it was because of the droid’s broken audio circuits that left it unable to communicate properly outside of a starship. They had probably thought it funny to give the ‘new kid’ a faulty droid.

“Right. Let’s get this done. Trust in the force, always the force.” He said to reassure himself, repeating a phrase that one of his initial instructors at the academy liked to repeat. He flicked on the auxiliary systems, and the fighter’s displays and readouts flickered into life. Fuel was good. Power was good. Weapons were good. Comms were good, though he’d need to be ready to switch them off to best utilise the stealth systems of his fighter. Buzzer was lowered and secured into the astromech slot just behind the cockpit. Words soon appeared on one of the displays, translating Buzzer’s inputs into text that Kalum could read.

“Standing by and ready to obliterate some Sith scum, Jedi friend Kalum!”

Kalum blinked, reading it twice. “Uh, are your inputs working fine up there, Buzzer?” Kalum asked, hoping that this was a malfunction.

“Oh yes. Everything’s ship-shape and ready to blast some bucketheads into smithereens, Jedi Friend Kalum. It’s been a long time since I got to help fry some imperial boot lickers, this is going to be so much fun!”

“Uh huh…well, at least you're enthusiastic.” Kalum said, trying to force an unconvincing laugh.

“Oh, most certainly! These Sith scumlovers and Imperial dogs deserve to be wiped from the face of the Galaxy, Jedi Friend Kalum! I consider it a great privilege to help the great and noble Jedi utterly eviscerate their mortal enemies!”

“They’ve paired me with a psychopath…” Kalum muttered to himself, shaking his head.

No wonder the techs were all laughing behind his back. By the sound of it, they had given him a 3 foot tall robotic zealot. But, it was too late to order a switch now. He’d just have to make do.

“Give me a diagnostic, Buzz. How are we looking?” Kalum asked, trying to sound unphased.

“The ship is in excellent condition, Jedi Friend Kalum. All primary systems are operating at peak efficiency, perfect for spacing Sith nerf-herders. Making final adjustments now.”

A warning light flashed on the dashboard, and Kalum checked the power distribution display. He shook his head in disbelief.

“Buzz, why are you taking power from life support and channelling it into weapons? I do need to breathe, you know.” He asked in a slight panic.

“But weapons are the most important system, Jedi Friend Kalum. Can’t you just hold your breath whilst we terminate the evil and oppressive Sith in the name of our glorious Federation with maximum killing power?”

“No. I can’t. Just set the power distribution back to what it was before. I can’t terminate any evil and oppressive Sith if I’m dead.”

“Oh, silly me. Of course! My apologies, Jedi Friend Kalum.”

The warning light vanished as the display showed the power being redistributed. Kalum sighed in relief just as his Master’s voice came over the comms.

Kalum nodded along to his master's words, taking several deep breaths to steady himself. He could feel a slight shift in the emotions of everyone around him. He wasn’t the only one feeling a little nervous. He couldn’t help but think the force itself was trying to help a little. He even cracked a smile as he put on his flight helmet. Taron’s voice came over the comm again, though this time it was over the Ganner Squadron private channel.

"Ganner, this is One. Run pre-flights, power up systems, and check in when ready to go. Let's make this one count."

Kalum nodded to himself and did just as his master ordered, speaking to Buzzer.

“Running pre-flight and powering up primaries. Keep an eye on them, Buzz, let me know if you spot anything that’s off.”

“Copy that, Jedi Friend Kalum! Would you like me to divert power from shields to weapons?”

“No, of course not! Just keep checking those readings.” Kalum replied, slightly exasperated. He would need to take Buzzer in for a memory wipe after this mission was over. He pressed the control to enclose and pressurise the cockpit. The hustle and bustle of the hanger faded away slightly as the transparisteel viewport clicked into place and sealed him in. The taste of the air changed a little as the oxygen supply from the StealthX took over from that of the Homebound Pariah. This meant Buzzer had kept power flowing into life support, and Kalum relaxed a little. He might get spaced by a Sith pilot, but at least he wasn’t going to suffocate before the mission had even started. He activated more controls, powering up the weapons and shielding systems. He gave a quick hand signal to the watching technicians that everything was operating fine, and they responded in kind before clearing the area around his fighter. He pressed the control to prime the engines, and they roared into life, ready to go. More texts flashed up on the screen as Buzzer gave his pre-flight check.

“All systems functioning perfectly, Jedi Friend Kalum! We are ready to fly out and vaporise our enemies! I do enjoy vaporising Sith scum buckets.”

Kalum sighed, but also couldn’t contain a slight chuckle as he flicked his comm onto the Ganner Squadron private channel.

“Ganner Two standing by and ready, One.” He said, trying to sound as confident as he could.

Here goes nothing. He thought to himself as he awaited the go for takeoff.

Orario proceeded to put on the rest of his battle gear and grabbed his helmet and proceeded to his ship and climbed up into the cockpit of the New Achilles wing Star Raven ships and the controls were barely touched which is good for Orario, knowing that the last ship he flew ended up having lots of issues with holes and very used controls over 30 years old. Orario then proceeded to start all system checks and closed the hatch that keeps the cockpit airtight and finishes all the system checks required for takeoff. Hanger 13, Homebound Pariah

Charum was in his Stealth X quickly running pre flight checks trying to get his ship ready for the coming fight when he heard the whistles and beeps of his astromech ST-4MP5.

“Are you sure this can not be resolved peacefully?” the droid had asked.

“I’m afraid so. If peace was an option Stamps then we would already have it.”

“Have you tried showing them the joys of stamp collecting? The maker always said that if everyone knew the joys of stamps then the galaxy would be a peaceful place.” came the droids whistled reply.

“Sadly stamps are not something the sith are interested in my friend.”

“That is sad. I pity these being because they are about to be sent burning and screaming into hell with a stamp collection sized hole in their souls.” Charum didn’t quite know what to make of that reply. These Erik Corp droids were odd ones to say the least but they did their job well so he couldn’t complain, he just went about finishing powering up his ship.

“This is Ganner Three. Standing by and ready.” He said over his comms when he was finished.

GM UPDATE/SITH

RAVENCROWN FLEET

Kuat Shipyards
BLOODREIGN (bridge)

“All commands, initiate Deathbloom!”
Lord Xxys’ voice sounded across the fleet coms.

The RAVENCROWN fleet began to expand like a flower of death as every ship moved in perfect unison and precision, encompassing and dominating an ever expanding quadrant of the shipyards launching area with each passing second. At the heart of the Deathbloom, radiating an aura of doom, was the BLOODREIGN. The ship looked like a massive dagger.

The STARDESTROYERS disgorged their fighter squadrons and like a beautiful ballet the swarm of fighters and support craft flooded the zone. The Jedi seemed to be reacting quickly however it was obvious they had been caught flat footed.

“Raptor squadron! Spearhead the advance and move in directly towards those battle cruisers. Cut off their retreat and lay down heavy fire to clear the lane.”
Xxys’ voice was steady and concise.
“Achilles squadron! Sweep to port and down ten thousand meters to slice across the belly of their fleet and keep your eyes peeled for any ships trying to get on or off the surface. We have to assume they have people down there and I want prisoners.”

Lord Xxys then spoke to his second on the bridge.

“I want shock troopers ready to board the station once we secure the zone. Heavy fighter escorts as well as the Nosferotu squadron to fly cover for the landers.”

Xxys turned to the coms station.

“Send a message to Lord Vexx to take his wing of the fleet and make a quick jump to the far side of the planet. We want to cut them off and be sure no ship makes it out of the system. Activate the INTERDICTORS as soon as Lord Vexx gets to his position.”

“Cry HAVOC! And let slip the rancors of WAR!!

*All Sith pilots may advance to attack positions and begin engagement.

All Jedi pilots may likewise select targets and engage.

The distance between fleets is enough that it will take one round to cross at attack speeds.

All pilots may pick target packages and fire their first salvos at the end of this round.

The engagement will have simultaneous initiatives and first strikes will be considered in the first dice rolls.*

Orario Starwind, finally able to show what he's made of, straps himself down as best he can and powers up the engine of his fighter and starts to head towards the airlock of the Hanger Bay. Just as he exits the hanger bay, he hears Lord Xxys give the orders: "Achilles squadron! Sweep to port and down ten thousand meters to slice across the belly of their fleet and keep your eyes peeled for any ships trying to get on or off the surface. We have to assume they have people down there and I want prisoners.” Just as Lord Xxys finished giving the order, Orario switched his Achilles StarFighter to attack position and proceeds to launch his ship down ten thousand meters and begins looking for fighters or targets that are unprotected from attack. @Lord Xxys

IC: Sage Master Avalon
Location: Kuat Drive Yards, aboard the Homebound Pariah (meditation chamber)

Uncouth, unkempt, and undisciplined were not the words that could be applied to the enemy, despite what propaganda powdered Avalon's forces' recent leaves. And Avalon knew it. They were precise and supremely coordinated, no doubt due to the benefits of utter domination that the Sith employed, as well as their leader’s plentiful experience. Avalon had not the slightest compunction about doing the same… to their forces. In the coming seconds, a terrible assault, masked by the violence and cacophony of bloody battle, was to begin taking its pernicious effects.

Coordination, breaking. Skill, diluting. Courage, draining. Will, crushed beneath the tsunami of the Light’s power.

But, in truth, Battle Meditation was never just about the telepathic assault. It was awareness. An all-encompassing awareness of the battlefield.

“Raptor squadron! Spearhead the advance and move in directly towards those battle cruisers. Cut off their retreat and lay down heavy fire to clear the lane.”
“Achilles squadron! Sweep to port and down ten thousand meters to slice across the belly of their fleet and keep your eyes peeled for any ships trying to get on or off the surface. We have to assume they have people down there and I want prisoners.”

Avalon never heard these words. But he felt their intentions. And with the precognitive power of such hyper-awareness, he saw what their tactics were consisting of, at least generally.

He took a deep breath, an acceptance of the conflict before him. He probed the hearts of his own forces, and found them bright. Like a hearthfire, Master Taron’s spirit granted Avalon succor in these first few moments of the battle, a reassuring hand on the shoulder that Taron would receive right back in the form of Avalon’s Battle Meditation. Padawan Kalum fed into it, strengthening with the power of something bright that could only be the product of humor. Their hearts emboldened Avalon, and so did his embolden theirs.

Avalon spoke to the leader of Ganner Squadron.
“Master Solo, it’s time.”
Master Solo, a reference that was intentional. If there indeed Solo blood running through Taron’s veins, Avalon never wanted him to forget it.
“I’ll give you assistance, coordination. But my hand shan’t guide you or your squad. It’s all you, Master Solo. If you ever need my help, never hesitate to think for help.”
And with that, Avalon gave him the information he needed to make his move, options for where to begin.

It was the hardest thing one had to do as a leader. One wants to carry each and everyone, to take the burden of it all upon oneself to ease it for others. But there can be no victory without trust. And Avalon had to trust that everyone was capable of the job they were assigned, and more.

His illusory attack force at this time was more a distraction, than a true attack force. Something to create breathing room, as well as opening for attacks. He kept it going, for now. The lack of coordination with each illusion was intentional, like relegating power from unnecessary systems to shore up others.

He waved his hand over his fleet, speaking to his commanders, to officers and admirals alike, mentally. He heard them over comms.

“Raddus Squadron! Deploy and stifle the enemy attack squadron! Focus beneath our ships, Master Avalon senses an attack there.”

“Beating Heart, focusing fire on their interdictors”

Avalon spoke over comms, for words did grant a clarity that feeling rarely did.
“I need ships following and supporting Beating Heart. Go on offense and allow me to focus on defense. Once their interdictors are down, we’ll shift tactics. But until then, we’re- Beating Heart!”

With an urgency in his voice no living being has heard since the fall of the Jedi temple, Avalon spoke in both the Force and comms.
“Activate interdictors right now!”
He had gripped on the gravity well engineers of Beating Heart so tightly that his mental knuckles whitened for a moment, and he nearly puppetted them, almost *forcing* them to immediately comply.
He had sensed it in the very last few seconds. Ships preparing for a jump. The very last thing he needed was long range fire from an enemy. Every advantage was to be his, not theirs.

It felt like it all happened over the course of minutes, but in reality it had only been a less than a minute since the battle began. It was nearly overwhelming. But with the aid of his meditation chamber, he kept his hold without breaking a sweat. Not one of strain, at least…

The Homebound Pariah, far off from the battle, continued positioning itself. The crew was ordered to maintain a low volume to avoid Force-listeners. Truthfully, such a threat was not even worth considering. But Avalon knew the quietness, compared to the standard chaos, made for a more efficient crew. The only noise came from the hangars, and even they were considerably quiet than average. It presented a certain calmness, a mask of cold composure, even in the face of the slaughter of allies, that would become part of the face overtime.
Hidden beneath a cloaking device, under comm silence—save for private and scrambled channels—and guided solely by Avalon himself until the cloak is broken, the Homebound Pariah was primed to provide a sort of sniper support when the moment came, or leap in at the perfect spot whenever one opened up, or simply retreat if desired, as well as release ships in more clandestine positioning, though it slowed their entrance into whatever skirmish they headed for.

Ganner Squadron would have to make a jump to get there with any real speed, breaking stealth for a split second, or go at sublight speed for some time to get there covertly.

GM NOTE:

Ganner Squadron has several options.

Ganner Squadron has the option of making a short jump into territory, utilizing on-board HIMS to negate the interdiction field long enough to jump into a good position.
Ganner Squadron also has the option of taking two turns to get into position without breaking stealth by going in at sublight speed.

Ganner Squadron may also simply wait to deploy.

Finally, Ganner Squadron may simply retreat or refuse to enter the battle. This option is not advised.

NOTE ON INTERDICTION:

All ships within the battle have been placed within interdiction fields. Some Sith ships of Lord Vexx's wing may have gotten through before activation however. Any usage of hyperspace jumps should be outside of these fields. If you are unsure of your ability to make a jump or not, ask your side's GM.

*GM UPDATE BOTH SIDES*

The RAVENCROWN fleet had arrived in grand fashion and the fighters had streamed from the hangers like locust over a field of grain. But things were not developing as the plans had been set.
The ACHILLES squadron had not deployed as ordered and had now left a gap in the attack front. All along the battle sphere as the ships closed to within long turbo laser range it seemed the DEATHBLOOM was being stunted somehow. The pilots did not engage along the prescribed lines. The bombers were just a nick off course, and the squadron sweeping to the belly of the Jedi fleet already had a countermeasure being launched to intercept.

Something was afoot.

Xxys closed his eyes and calmed his mind. He reached out to feel within the Force. His minds eye raced over the battlefield faster than any fighter and as he approached the Jedi ships he could feel his will being thwarted by another. Xxys did not possess commiserate skills to rebuke this issue but did have an idea how it might be stopped by other means. He turned his mind back inward.

Meanwhile the lead pilots had already engaged and because their minds were not clear the results were quickly becoming apparent. Entire squadrons were fighting for their lives.
Xxys eyes snapped open and he quickly activated the coms
“Achilles squadron! Get on station and start your runs! Alpha through Gamma collapse your flanks and fill the gaps! Heads up everyone there is more going on than meets the eye so tighten up, focus, and bear down!”
Xxys turned to the navigation station
“Have the fleet go to station keeping and hold the line. No ships to get into or out of the sector and I want the INTERDICTORS to go to full power. There is someone over there that is already trying to tip the scales of power. We just need him to pop his head up so we can take it off.”

Initiative has been lost to the Jedi and thus they will have first turns at engagement. Jedi pilots, lock in your firing solutions and post.

Each pilot may engage one (1) ship this round and dice will determine hits and misses.

Rules of Engagement

All ships are limited to a maximum volley of eight (8) ship board lasers and one (1) missile.

Lasers will roll 1d20 per shot to hit. All hits will roll 1d10 damage with nat.20 doing maximum damage automatically.

Missiles will roll 1d20 (minimum of 15 to hit plus bonus for lock) and do 1d20 depending on hit roll with Nat.20 (no bonus) doing maximum damage automatically. Pilots may forfeit laser shots to gain a missile “lock” that adds +5 to hit but takes the entire round. The lock will be registered by the opposing pilot who may take “countermeasures” or “evasion” at +1 to evade and +3 to countermeasures.
Countermeasures will be rolled on a d20 and a hit (minimum 12 or higher with bonus) will automatically destroy the missile. Missiles fired without lock will roll at -5 to hit

All ships will have a base of 100 hp.

The loss of more than 75hp will result in shield failure.

The remains 25hp will be the ships hull, engines, and life support system.

At 1hp pilots will have the option to “eject”

It was the middle of the sleep cycle, the order to move out to the battle field had been given.

"Time for a party huh?!' she spoke this aloud to no one. She had found out an age ago she had a habit of just blathering on for no reason other than to hear herself. Maybe it had to do with her lengthy time alone during a explorative period in her life,
she shook her head, venetian blue hair tied up in tight braids like a beehive on her head.

Wearing a black bodysuit under her approved armor that was provided by the great Empire at hand. Black combat boots laced, tied and on foot she made her way to the cockpit. Sleeping in the vessel was her norm the last week or two. She had done this as a means to get to know the Star Raven. Black against her pink skin was in high contrast and she loved it.

She felt less than ready but, the lessons she had would have to do. She would have to literally fly by the seat of her pants now.

Deep breath in, hands hovering over the controls. "Here goes nothing." Her co-pilot friend next to her a small astro-mech. He was done in a lovely color scheme compaerable to that of the Star Raven. "FIshbones, prepare for take off."
Of course she had to get out the manual and read some.
About fifteen minutes into reading she looked up.
"We should be moving Miss.Orchid, we were told to take formation about ten minutes ago." the small droid intoned.

"I already ordered you to get on that." she said.

"Not my job, you have to push buttons and pull levers." of course this came out in his know it all fashion.
It wasn't long before she realized the droid was right, page fifty-nine of the flight manual. Why didn't she pay better attention during lessons. Tossing the manual over her shoulder she made it barely into the formation meant for Achilles squadron but, she failed the team. The formidable formation of the Deathbloom was just a hair off track.

"According to my readings we are already going to be intercepted at our given spot Orchid." Fishbones announced.
"Will you kindly shut up, I am having a difficult enough time with my concentration as is without you being an incessant nuisance about everything."
Muscle memory kicked in and they were well on their way to the desired location in the squads formation, sweeping to the underbelly, she dropped into a gap and did her best to stay focused. She flicked on her Oculus. "Can never be to sure. Stupid Jedi and their stupid manipulation."
