Thread Prefixes and Tagging​

The ESEF has two primary ways to help users categorize and tag new threads based on content.

Post prefixes are selected from a drop-down list to the left of the thread title field; prefixes are already set, and you can find a list of all prefixes and what they entail at the end of this post. For example, if posting a new thread about the movie Rogue One in the Star Wars Movies forum in the Discussion Boards, select the prefix "Anthology" from the drop-down. If you do not select a prefix when you post a thread, an admin or moderator will choose one for your post.

All threads can be tagged with related keywords in the tags field below the text editor when making a new thread. Tags are not pre-set; tag your posts with keywords related to the content of your thread. You may choose up to five tags per new thread. For example, if posting a new thread on the topic of the city of NiJedha as it was seen in the movie Rogue One, tag your post with keywords such as "NiJedha", "location", "discussion", "Rogue One", "Jedha".

Guide to Prefixes​

Admin/Mod/Informational

• Admin - For threads posted by administrators.
• Mod - For threads posted by moderators.
• Announcement - For admin- or mod-approved announcements.
• News - For threads containing Star Wars news updates, or news about this forum.
• Notice - For threads containing information that all forum user should read.
• Info - Informational threads, like this one.

Communications

• Issue - If you are running into a technical issue or other forum-related issue, use this prefix when posting in the Communications subforum. An administrator, moderator, or experienced member will help you resolve your issue.
• Question - For questions about the forum when posting in the Communications subforum.
• Suggestion - For suggestions for the forum and ESE in general.
• Welcome! - The prefix for the welcome post for new users.
