The light is low -- candles set upon hoverdroids float languidly about the cavernous room, providing enough light to see but quite dark enough to be cozy. A light jazz met the ears of all who entered, the live band from whence it came tucked into the darkest corner-- heard but largely unseen. It lent the room a full-bodied aura, and even the first arrivals would feel comfortable sinking into a booth or a sliding into place at the bar. Bartenders and waiters stood at the ready, prepared to receive any and all orders conceivable by the Sith partygoers. But they did not move as the guests arrived. Not yet.
The list of Secret Santa participants would be displayed on the wall banner, with their pairings painted on the tapestry:
Senec Tinople and Duraanir
Mavros and Keres Dymos
And as the attendees of tonight's celebrations arrived, they would each be handed a small bag of door prizes with the following items:
~A thermal detonator adorned with the image of a member of the Dark Council (absolutely collectible!)
~50 Imperial Credits
~A commemorative '1st Year Anniversary' glass made of crimson-tinted crystal
~One lightsaber crystal (unmarred by the Dark Side) from the caves of Ilum
~One decorative pin (image of your choice)
~A tin of mints, because even the Sith value fresh breath (well, some of them -- we're looking at you, Tim)
But the party and gift exchange would not commence just yet, for this was a significant day in a significant Empire's history, and it would only be fitting that she who governed its vast territories and gave order to its legions be the first to speak.
All awaited the Empress' speech.
