FSO-NJO War Campaign [CORUSCANT/SITH] - The Hour of Crusade

As the Zealot lead the sith down a stairwell to a dark tunnel, Jina'Tis could only notice at first a strong odor similar to the stench of stale air. As the words from the Zealot once again pierced into Jina'Tis mind "Be cautious, The Jedi could very well have done the same as us in populating this location. The long way will aid us, but it is not foolproof.

Our troops above, the specialists in particular, are even now positioning themselves to fire from unseen positions, picking off any Jedi or soldier they spot. Soon, we will coordinate our attack with theirs. While the Jedi undoubtedly have great numbers, the majority of their generals, we have surmised, are not present in this sector.

We have three-thousand troops at our disposal. What could such a force not accomplish in this small arena of war?"

With that Jina'Tis felt his eyes adjust to the low light, he was able to see as if it were in the day light. Shadow, the Droid of Jina'Tis hovered just above the right shoulder of the shistavanen, having activated his cloak he was ready to follow any orders given.

Sniffing the air, the Lord attempted to determine if the area was clear before using the force to do the same... as he did he could feel some sort of beings but couldn't say who or what they were. To the others mind he communicated "I sense something, unclear what it is but we are not alone."

Outside the Jedi Temple

Nekrosis' hands hovered near his lightsabers, also sensing an unfamiliar presence. He couldn't see too well in the darkness, so he tried to watch out for any signs of movement in the shadows. He could not yet tell if whatever was approaching was friend or foe, so for the moment he stayed silent, still, and ready.

The Death Knight could feel his excitement increasing, but kept it at bay, reminding himself that bloodshed would come soon enough. He had waited this long to meet the Jedi in combat. He could wait a little longer. Just a little longer.

Crimson Corridor

Very well, then,” Vesuvius said as he eyed the Zealot one more time. Without further word he turned and moved away from the group. He headed away, towards the Crimson Corridor. He closed his eyes as he walked and stretched out his senses. He smelled the smoky air and felt the wind blow across his red skin. He rested his hand on his lightsaber as he walked, ready for any ambush. His mind expanded outward to touch the dark crevasses of the city before him. He searched for the familiar illumination of life forms. Vesuvius could feel the life ahead. Small life forms scurried above and below, most likely hawk bats or granite slugs. But ahead he could feel stronger life forms. To his basic abilities it felt like a small group, three or four at the most. But at this distance he could be mistaken. Immediately he marked their approximate location on his comm, in order to relay it to the rest of his team. He stalked onward expanding his mind in search of more enemies.

IC: Zealot Sasano
The Tunnels

It had been but twenty minutes of trudging along when the tappings of condensation drips and the thrums of far-off engines became intermingled with the sound of heavy footsteps and low growls. Sasano had been right. They weren’t alone here.
The Zealot drew his sword, a telepathic warning sent out to his compatriots, before whirling around, his blade catching a darting shape in the dark. The shape halted, slamming into the ground from the power of Sasano’s blow. It had been a strong one, but the blade had not managed to cut all the way through the figure’s hide. At least not through the other side.
The large, ugly thing let out a death rattle, and in the dim, flickering light of the tunnel, the Sith could see a hairy, misshapen behemoth. Its body was humanoid, but its features were horrifically deformed. Its arms were far too long for its body, and its stumpy legs seemed to not do too much of the heavy lifting for its body. Its head was blocky, with a large, tusk-filled mouth and black beady eyes, currently rolled back in its wide skull. Its shaggy fur was dark with splotches of orange scattered across its carcass. As Sasano pulled the sword out, wine-dark blood seeped from the wound in its swollen paunch.
“Ogres,” Sasano grunted aloud, the first time since they’d left the temple. “The creatures do not hunt alone.
As if on cue, a half-dozen more dark shapes began to take form in the dim light, revealing that the Sith were not at all alone, and that they wouldn’t be able to finish their trek quietly.

IC: Zealot Harrvayn
The Skies above the Crimson Corridor

Harrvayn received the transmission from Vesuvius first, and with a gesture had sent a small detachment of the flying troopers to the location to scope it out, moving in quietly as they landed on rooftops, activating their scanners to detect the small group of foes.
Harrvayn, in the meantime, continued onwards, flying out with several more aerial troops, gaining altitude to hide their presence from the Jedi. The Zealot spoke into his communicator, sending a message back to Commander Threntel. “The Jedi are spread, at least in part, with Federation troopers accompanying them. I recommend sending a large detachment with a Hesperian Guard at their head to begin the search.”

TAGS: @Darth Thana @Jonahframe @Arach

OOC Notes: Vesuvius detected a small group of Jedi forces, four being Federation troopers and one being a low-ranking Jedi. Continued use of his senses will allow him to detect more lifeforms.
A detachment of Jedi have been detected by the aerial patrol. They aren’t yet being engaged and don’t seem to be particularly high-ranking. They can be engaged by ground forces (presently, Arach, Thana, and Vesuvius) once they spend a move reaching their position.
A large detachment of three-dozen infantrymen, with a half-dozen heavy troops and one Hesperian Guard, as well as one officer, have begun their trek into the main entrance of the Corridor. Three artillery units have arranged themselves sporadically near said entrance to catapult plasma at any Jedi seeking to ambush the dispensable detachment.

The Tunnels

Brilliant blue light surrounded Nekrosis as he ignited his lightsabers, holding the shorter blade in a reverse grip in his left hand. His eyes widened when he saw the creatures, as he had been expecting (or rather, hoping for) an ambush from the enemy. He doubted these creatures had anything to do with the war. Surely their enemy would not have such beings on their side. Nekrosis would have expected the Sith to use creatures like this. These had to be local fauna of some kind, though they didn't seem natural. Escapees of some zoo perhaps?

Either way, they clearly weren't friendly, and Nekrosis and the others would have to get through them to continue through the tunnels. Still, the Death Knight did not immediately leap battle. He instead held his lightsabers in a defensive and ready position and waited for one of the foul beasts to get closer, then he would strike.

The raven Haired Zabrak paced as she watched the troops spread around attempting to track down any and all Jedi hiding in or around the shattered temple. Her hands clasped behind her back as she watched each colored tracker move around the display being shown by Whiskey.

Upon the arrival of some new green colored trackers from the aerial patrol troops. The Dread Master attempted to tap into the minds of the troops above wanting them to attack. Thana's eyes shielded by her helmet as she furrowed her eyes "Troops take out the Jedi now!"

The Zabrak's head shifted to lock eyes with the acolyte and Lady Arach whenever they were hoping that they too would acknowledge the spotted enemies. Her voice first to Vesuvius, "Acolyte do you have any updates?".

The Dread Master was prepared to engage should she need to, but Caution she took not to rush into an ambush...

The tunnels.

Blood.... with a whirling swing of his blade, the Zealot brought down the mysterious beast before them causing the air around them to fill with the scent of blood. With his eyes able to see clearly in the lowest of lights, Jina'Tis saw the entire thing take place ."Ogres" the Zealot Sasano had called it and that it wouldn't be alone, just as the words left the Zealots mouth Jina'Tis' ears perked as the sounds of more of these creatures were making their way to them.

With a sound the tunnel shined a blue light as the Knight Nekrosis activated his lightsabers and took a defensive stance. Jina'Tis did not grab his own twin lightsabers from his belt but instead grabbed the 2 Kyuzo Petars from his lower back. With one in each hand the Dread Lord activated them. With a hum the gold colored weapons shined a slight red at the edges "This should be interesting" the shistavanen said as he used his eyes to see the beasts as clear as day, he counted at least a half dozen of them "shouldn't be too hard for us" Jina'Tis said out loud for the rest to hear.

Jina'Tis took aim at the beast that was the closest and from his right hand he used his force lightning to imbue the blade with an electric charge and threw it in direction of the ogre in hopes that if it were to make contact, the power of the lightning would cause the blade to release the power and explode in a shower of electricity and metal fragments.

The Tunnels
Sansano would have preferred their approach to be deathly silent, but the huddled Coruscani Ogres seemed to have different plans. They growled in indiscernible rumbles, muttering back and forth to each other in a language he couldn't understand. He kept his sword ready, waiting to strike.

Before he could, he heard the sound of cerulean sabers igniting, their light shining dully upon the hulking bodies before them. Shaggy fur, beady eyes, faces which did not match each other, let alone the other half of themselves. The asymmetrical creatures were a horror, though not greater than anything the Zealot had seen before.

Before he could leap at them with the speed of an overgrown Tooka, a crackling pierced the growls. Darth Jina'Tis had cast a sphere of lightning towards the ogres. No, not a sphere. A blade. His petar. Sasano quickly ducked and rolled back, coming up in a defensive position as the lightning surged outwards, frying two of the closer ogres instantly, leaving them to crumple on the ground in a heap. The remaining four beasts became immediately aggressive, two of which had been scorched slightly by the lightning bomb.

Sasano dropped low as one ogre leaped for him, arms swinging wildly. His sword arced through the air with grace, slicing through one of the creature's burly arms. It howled in pain before rearing up and swinging at him again with incredible speed and ferocity, which he had barely time to block. He was knocked back, pinned by the beast above him. This was but a distraction, and Sasano was not having it.

Beyond him, the other three ogres went at their quarry. One approached Nekrosis, somewhat warily, intimidated by the blue light of his sabers, but growling aggressively. This one was larger than the others, perhaps an alpha of some sort. The other two turned their attention to Jina'Tis, who they regarded as the most threatening presently, bounding after him with rage, swinging wildly, their lips slobbering with vicious intent.

The Skies Above
Harrvayn and his troop continued moving towards the enemy territory, his senses impressed upon the ground below him. He sensed a number of individuals, largely in clusters, but no one of substantial Force potential yet. Looking further ahead, however, he caught glimpses in the Force of immeasurable power, someone who would put all others, perhaps even Lord Xarxes, to shame with his immense strength. Whoever this individual was, the mere existence of such a being, or the hint of such, was enough to cause Harrvayn fear.

The Crimson Corridor
There came no response to Darth Thana, her mind receiving no response in the Force from either Vesuvius or Arach. The troops, however, began to close in one the Jedi and their Federation accompaniment. The snipers above sent three shots in rapid succession. The first two found their marks in the Federation troopers, but the Jedi was too quick, apparently having sensed the presence of hostile forces, and deflected the blaster bolt, causing it to hit a durasteel barrel, the noise resounding through the narrow streets. Surely this would cause some commotion on the enemy's end.

Thana could see the Jedi raise their wrist towards their mouth, and could faintly here the garbled barking of calls of help as the Jedi continued to whirl their saber with their free hand, moving closer to one of the buildings to evade at least some of the blaster fire from the snipers. Some of them used their jetpacks to change their vantage points, while the Federation troops remaining began to open fire.

The ogre that approached Nekrosis seemed to be holding back, perhaps hesitant at the sight of his lightsabers. The Death Knight chose to connect his sabers together via the coupler, and The shoto blade extended to full length. Nekrosis then spun and flourished the saberstaff around him, hoping to dazzle the ogre as he slowly got closer to it. If the horrid beast attacked first, Nekrosis was prepared to act accordingly. But if he managed to get close enough before that, he would attempt to butcher the wretched thing, starting by attempting to sever its right arm, then left, followed by its legs in turn, then a slash at his throat.

He just hoped the creature was as stupid as it looked, which would allow him to pull this off.

Pain and anger.... it filled the tunnel and Jina'Tis loved to feel it, as it brought such feelings of power to him. The lightning bomb had did its job and felled two of the vile beasts while slightly scorching two more leaving the tunnel smelling of burned ozone and flesh. As he sees the Zealot Sasano take another of the Ogres down with his blade Jina'Tis noticed that the three that were left two of them were coming to him, their faces showing an almost primal rage to them.

Jina'Tis raised his blade in this left hand and instead of imbuing the weapon with lightning he threw it at the nearest beast in hopes it would find its mark. As soon as it left his hand, the Dread Lord quickly raised both his hands to unleash a somewhat focused stream of Force Lightning. The blue energy would dance across the space filling the area with color and sound, when close the stream would spread open like a net in a hopeful attempt to incase the beasts in its trap of death.

Watching the Jedi evade the shots fired at them, their pathetic calls for help as they seemed to make a ditch effort to a nearby building. The jedi wielding around their sabers as escaped...

The Sith master was ready to watch them die, she called out "Troops surround the building and begin firing! I want it gunned down if need be!"

Her eyes shifted to Whiskey as he displayed green dots with the other team. She knew that they weren't there beforehand, Thana trusted that Shadow was keeping an eye on Jina'tis and Nekrosis.

Thana focused on some of the rubble nearby, calling on the dark side to allow her wishes to come to fruition. Her wicked mind called forth two beings made of stone covered with ash, their essence brought forth by the dark side. If all was in her favor they would stand in front of her and kneel to their Master...

Lightning surged through the ogre above Sasano as his anger increased. The beast recoiled, dismounting his prey, as the surge of electricity tore through him. Sasano wasted no time in rising to his feet, sword swingly deftly to sever the overgrown head of his attacker.

The sword of Jina'Tis grazed its mark, but the lightning-imbued weapon crippled the creature, tearing through its side and leaving it crumpled on the floor, erratically clutching at its wound. The second found that the lightning of a powerful Sith Lord was nearly impossible to overcome the hard way, its organs being roasted by the focused torrent running through it. It was dead before it hit the ground.

Unfortunately for Nekrosis, the alpha seemed more intelligent than the others. As soon as he began spinning the cerulean blades, the creature ducked low, using its lanky arms to sweep at Nekrosis' feet, knocking him off balance. The gamble, however, came at a cost as one of the spinning blades severed the creature's hand, forcing it to howl in pain as it reared, its other fist coming down towards the exposed body of the Sith Apprentice.

The Crimson Corridor

As rubble began to pile up, Darth Thana used it to her advantage, summoning esoteric arts upon the wreckage to conjure a creature of stone and twisted steel to her bidding. The effort took all of her attention, but the Jedi was too busy being on the defensive to know of the presence of Sith in their close vicinity.

The snipers were keeping busy, completely confident that they could snag the Jedi if they kept the fire on them. One threw a smoke grenade while the others activated their thermal scopes. The Jedi was clearly visible now, and their own vision was poor. If they made the wrong move now…

As the snipers lined up their shots, a torrent of blasterfire erupted. Whirling around to see the source, they found another patrol of Jedi and Federation troopers arriving at their position. The snipers took cover, now forced to be on the defensive as a dozen Federation troops, accompanied by what appeared to be two Jedi Padawans, arrived on the scene.

"The enemy is advancing," one called into their wrist communicator. "Send forces now!"

The skies above the enemy lines

The Drexl fliers continued on their path, the Crimson Corridor far, far below them. Harrvayn and the other Hesperians continued to sense the force of Light, its presence growing brighter the further they strayed above enemy lines.

"Report to command," one aerial trooper called. "They have to know there's something serious out here."

Harrvayn relented begrudgingly. They still were too high up to be hit accurately by anything, but for how long the peace would last, they knew not. "Commander Threntel," he called into his communicator, "the Jedi have amassed a small force near the rear end of the Corridor. Move artillery units into position and begin mowing down the district. It's time to smoke them out into open battle.

And…there's something serious here. Inform our Lord of this development."

IC: Commander Threntel
The Jedi Temple, Sith Command Post

Within the smoldering temple, Threntel barked orders to the advancing Sith Troopers and their artillery as buildings began to be mowed down, shelter being made obsolete as the Sith paved their way forward. The large Force signature had been identified by Harrvayn now. Whatever those blasted Zealots intended, their objective was clear. Total eradication. No prisoners.

There were no civilians in the Corridor anymore, at least that their scans had provided. If there were, they were being cloaked by the Federation and the Jedi, and thus would be collateral. At least this is how Threntel thought of them.

A hum emitted from his holocommunicator, the sapphire image of Darth Drakul Xarxes's figure appearing in a haze. "Commander, report." He was not happy.

"
The Jedi have been located by one of your Zealots. The stealth patrol has gone silent, but the airways are still clear for the aerial units. Artillery is beginning to mow down buildings and advance on enemy lines. Guerilla tactics are expected."

Xarxes grunted. "
Inform the aerial units to keep a low profile. They must wait until the stealth patrol comes back up. Five minutes, then have them move in at a distance. Prepare for my arrival. I will be there shortly." His image faded, and Threntel shivered. He had only stood in Xarxes' presence once, but the thought of seeing the man in action was a terrifying one. Quickly, he sent a message to Harrvayn before looking over to Retahn standing beside him. "Guard the doors with a patrol of heavy troopers and Hesperians. On the off-chance they breach our front, you will be the backup."

Retahn and Threntel alike knew that Jedi breaching their perimeter would end in a messy conflict, but the likelihood of that occurrence was low. It had to be. After all, there was no way that the enemy forces had anyone as powerful as Xarxes on their side, right?

OOC Notes: Darth Xarxes will arrive on the planet's surface and join the fray in five rounds.

Nekrosis hit the floor with a quiet " oof" before acting quickly to avoid an attack while he was down. He rolled to one side just as he became aware of the monster's fist descended toward him. If he had manage to roll in time, the Death Knight would then spin his saberstaff above him and slightly to one side in a wide circle perpendicular to the floor. If timed right, this would sever the creature's other hand before it pulled away. If timed right.

More pain and the smell of death on the air, it filled the Dread Lords nose and it was amazing. The beasts were no match for the power of his lightning and they paid the price of going against a Lord of the Sith.

From the corner of his eye, Jina'Tis could see that Nekrosis was in trouble, the largest of the Ogres was poised to strike down its fist on the young sith. With the eyes of Jina'Tis changed from a eery yellow to a deep pulsing red as the fire of the dark side flowed, he took off towards the beast and he leapt into the air drawing his twin lightsabers from his belt and activating them with a snap hiss.

As the area would fill with a deep red color, He attempted to use a cross slash across the back of the creature in hopes to bring the smelly thing down.

Her focus was primarily spent on the twisting creature crafted before her very eyes. The littered land made a grand choice to summon it. The large minion kneeled before the Dread Master waiting on her commands to be given.

She took her attention off her submissive golem, Thana had heard the news of arrivals. "Blast! We had them cornered. Now to see what the light side has to bring to this battle."

The Zabrak scanned the holo map to keep an eye out on the stealth team as colors started to go missing. She wondered how this would go due to lack of aid from her own team. This made Thana need to rely on troops and some of the Hesperian guards she had never met.

The only option was to save her energy and see the opposing team had to deal out. Her snipers stopping their fire...

Nekrosis moved aside just in time, the flying rubble of the ground soaring just above his face as the giant fist slammed into the pavement. HIs arm moved just as fast, lightsaber spinning upwards to remove the fell hand of the ogre, causing it to reel in pain. Its now handles form was left exposed for the twin sabers of the Shistavanen lord, who fell upon it with unrelenting fury, slicing through its back, irreparably damaging its spinal column. Within the beast, signals failed to reach the brain to continue the regulation of bodily functions, and in seconds its heart had stopped beating. The foe was defeated.

Sasano looked on, satisfied with the work of the Sith. "You've done well," his voice echoed in their ears. "It's time for us to continue, and swiftly. We must make our way behind enemy lines."

Without another word, the Zealot took off down the tunnel, further into the darkness, leaving the Sith to catch up with him.

***

But a few minutes later, they arrived at what appeared to be an exit, a service ladder leading back to the surface side of things. Sasano was waiting for them; his fingers pressed against his temple as he sought to determine what lay above them.

"There may be individuals topside. Something strong, unnaturally so, is dampening my ability to sense abovegrounds. Be prepared for anything, but we ought to be safe, at least momentarily, as we get out there. Prepare yourselves."

***

They exited the tunnel without a hassle, coming to the surface of Coruscant's Crimson Corridor. They were, however, immediately greeted by booms coming from the direction of the Jedi Temple. The tunnels had let them out in a secluded alleyway, from which there were ways of ascending the rooftops of the nearest building. Sasano took the leap, gaining a vantage point to scout out the enemies and lie in wait. He pulled out a thermo-ocular visor, placing it over the eyes of his mask, seeking the find opponents to ambush.

Harrvayn's forces continued their flight, now approaching the very backs of the Crimson Corridor, likely where the commanders were stationed. Like his compatriot far below, the Zealot withdrew eyegear, placing it over his eyes to get a glimpse of what lay below.

He could not see any amassed force, but he did get a reading on several small groups of individuals, all taking note of the explosions are the fore of the Corridor. Something, someone, would emerge soon to face against the Sith. His lord would arrive soon to aid them. The question was, "would it be enough?"

Of course it would. It had to be.

The Crimson Corridor

As things started to look bleak for the Sith patrol, a blast erupted against a building, sending hunks of rubble down, crushing four Federation troops in one go, and forcing one Padawan to abandon his cloak as the rubble snagged it, nearly forcing him down. A Sith tank came into view, firing another bolt, but missing the platoon of soldiers. Federation troops now had to split their attention, while the Padawans turned to the other opponents. One faced down the golem, which roared as it swung its stony fists into the ground, sending out a shockwave. The Padawan, a Mirialan male, leapt into the air to avoid the wave, mustering a short burst of telekinetic energy that stumbled the golem very briefly. It did not seen very fazed.

The other two Padawans present split off. The one that had been on the defensive against the snipers leapt to the rooftops, his saber immediately finding the chest of one unfortunate sniper, whose companion immediately drew a vibrodagger, engaging the Padawan in an intense duel that would occupy the two.

The other snipers began firing once more against the remaining Federation troopers, while two of them focused their fire on the Padawan who seemingly was fleeing. This was the female, and it was quickly revealed that she had sensed a presence, the darkness of Darth Thana, whom she rounded a corner to encounter.

"There is nowhere to run, Sith. Surrender!" Her heart burned with righteous fury, and this had perhaps blinded her to the fact that she was now facing a Sith Master, her emerald blade at the ready.

Nekrosis watched with minor glee as the ogre fell. It was no Jedi, of course, but at least he was finally seeing some combat. He rolled to his feet, uttered a quick thanks to Jina'Tis, then deactivated his saberstaff and disabled the coupler before placing the weapons on his belt and following Sasano.

Soon, they were above ground once more, the sounds of War not far off. Sasano mentioned something was dampening his senses and warned them to be ready, so Nekrosis took hold of his lightsabers once more but did not ignite them just yet.

When Sasano leaped up to a rooftop, Nekrosis once again put away his lightsabers and quickly scaled the building to join him, ensuring he stayed low and hopefully out of sight.

The sizzling of flesh and a death moan is all Jina'Tis heard as he landed on the back of the beast. He deactivated his sabers as his eyes turned back from the burning red to his normal glowing yellow, as he clipped them back on his belt he looked at Nekrosis "time to get up and get moving young one, there's more work to be done" he said as he turns to follow the Zealot Sasano.

Aa he traveled through the tunnel he reaches the exit Sasano had found and made his way up to the surface. Jina'Tis tried to give the air a sniff in hopes of finding a scent of anything or anyone but nothing popped out to the shistavanen, just the scent memory of the tunnel and dead beasts but he also kept his ears sharp to kept informed of any incoming dangers. As Sasano took a vantage point to scout, Jina'Tis with his mind tried to connect to the Zealot "what do you see around us?"

IC: Darth Thana
Location: The Crimson Corridor

Blaster fire echoed powerfully throughout the area as Federation troops attempted to slay the scurrying jedi. They appeared young, perhaps Padawans.

One stupidly attempted an attack on her burley rock/ wreckage crafted golem which did not faze it. It would thrash about with unfiltered fury hoping to catch the young jedi. The creation was telepathically linked to the Sith Master.

Thana on the other hand had masked her appearance before touching down here. Her customized once heavy exoskeleton armor enhacing her reflexes and strength. The weight no long as much of an issue with the changes to distribute the weight. The form of the armor hiding her curves to appear but a man. The crimson color dancing with black had no mistake but to be a sith.

The Darth master had taken a deep inhale attempting to draw in the negative emotions running rampid around the area as pain and fear would likely be abundant with soliders dying and jedi running for their lives. Every inch of her body hopefully filling with dark side energy...

Her eyes shifted as she watched a young female round a corner headed straight for her. Spouting words she almost didn't care to listen to. "There is nowhere to run, Sith. Surrender!" Emerald blade at the ready.

With hopes of gaining the negative emotions the Zabrak grinned as she allowed her left palm to set a blaze of red hot firey stream of fire to hopefully blind the female charging towards her. Her right hand gripping her Obsidian colored lightpike with Precision as she attempted to draw it forward like a sword. Darth Thana looked to draw her pike forward and point the energy side aimed at the chest of the jedi to pierce her heart or location where she thought it would be.

If her plan didn't work she was banking on the fact that the pommel made with saber resistance to block her saber if Thana was not able to ignite it fast enough.
