IC: Jedi Master Chalcedony Isosi Kast
Tython - The Northern Temple
Ruination. Calamity. Collapse.

Thoughts like storm clouds gathered in Master Kast's mind; the end of her cane clacked loudly on the polished stone floor of the hangar as she walked from one end of it to the other, her hip feeling particularly seized today. The hangar itself was a mess, with crates upon crates upon shuttles upon boxes of rations upon, upon, upon... all scattered about, betraying the hurriedness in which things had been piled up and ships had been landed. And the storm-thoughts in Isosi's mind matched the fervor of the room around her, and the torrential rain beating down outside the old Northern Temple the hangar was housed in. Jedi, their robes of homespun brown and white all a blur, bustled about, their sweat palpable on the humid, yet cool, air.

The stress of losing the temple on Coruscant had followed them all the way to Tython.

They had fled from the capital world as it burned down around their ears, the Sith Empire laying waste to the Federation, the Senate, the Jedi Temple, and more. Their Order crumbled beneath their very feet-- and many friends and allies lay dead. Isosi swore the name of the Sith who led the charge on the Temple, an uncharacteristic hiss on her lips. They had lost much, and the pain of it was fresh; they had only arrived on Tython but one week prior.

Reaching the end of the hangar, she stopped near a bank of turbolift doors. She slumped heavily against them, and pulled herself together. In her mind's eye, she parted the storm clouds of her thoughts, allowing the brightness of the light side to act as the sunlight that chased out the dark ruminations. Straightening, she adjusted her poncho and tapped her cane on the floor before pressing the lift button. Some of the Order's forerunners would be gathering in the Council chamber floors above, to take stock of what had survived and decide their next steps forward. Hardly any of the Council had survived, so they were counting on the strongest of their Masters and Knights, and their loyal padawans, to help carry the diminished Order into the future. Into a brighter day.

Isosi boarded the turbolift, and it whisked her to the top floor of the Tythonian Northern Temple, and she stepped out into the wide hallway before the Council chamber, a stunningly beautiful room of polished, cool stone and a soaring glass ceiling. In a wide circle, the traditional Council chairs had been placed with care-- the meticulousness in stark contrast to the happenings in the hangar below. Master Isosi Kast, one of the last remaining Council members, entered the Council with reverence and grace, bowing her head in greeting to those who had gathered.

"Thank you, all," she said as she approached a chair on the far side of the room, "for gathering today. I feel there is much to discuss and we have been hardly able to set aside time in which to talk. Our losses may be great..." She sat and leaned back, placing her cane-- which was now visible as also being the Master's lightsaber-- across her knees. "But our resilience is greater."

IC: Keldro Unmar

Fire, Brimstone, Destruction

Terror hung in the air, heavy and foreboding. People were scattering in fear. The Sith had come at last. Keldro stood in the centre of the square, lightsabers flashed all around him. The Jedi were fighting to defend the people, and they were losing.

Keldro had just passed his trials and was now a Jedi Knight. No trials or training could have prepared him for this. It was a massacre, the Jedi were dropping like flies. There were just too many of them. Then he spotted something that gave him hope. His own master, the Nautolan, Eison Gynt. Fighting 3 Sith at once, cutting down two of their number in precise strokes.

Keldro started to move, he wanted to get to his master. He needed to, he just knew that if Master Gynt could get through this they would be okay. Each step was a mission, Keldro felt like he was running through quicksand. Master Eison took a nasty cut to his arm, and then hastily readjusted to barely defend a swipe to his legs.

Keldro was going backwards, he wouldn’t reach his master in time. Nothing seemed to propel him fast enough to his master's aid. As he fueled his legs with the Force and jumped the final Sith delivered a savage backhand stroke, cleaving the Nautolan in two. He took half an age to fall, and still, Keldro couldn’t get there in time.

A laugh emanated from under the hood, the Sith extinguished his saber. Turning to face the Jedi Knight slowly making his way to the fallen Jedi Master

“J'us zinot sesie, Jidai. Nu valia zudyti visa anas j'us galia vina” The Sith spat, lifting a hand to remove his hood. Beneath it, the face was blank and twisted.

***********

Bedroom, Tython

Keldro woke, abruptly fear coursing through him. His body was covered in a cold sheen of sweat.
You’re not there, it’s over. You survived, you’re not still fighting.’ Keldro sought to calm himself, reciting the Jedi code as a focus. “There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force.” Keldro breathed deeply, cantering himself in the force. He remained there in deep meditation for 25 minutes, his breathing eased and his mind relaxed.

Finally, he got up, rising from the simple single bed. Keldro made his way first, to the balcony that accompanied his room. Inhaling the foreign thythonian air, Keldro stared out at the sunrise. Although he wasn't proud of the events that led to him being here, Keldro couldn't help but admire the beauty of this planet. Sighing Keldro returned in side, moving to his wardrobe with his only set of Jedi attire inside. Dressing quickly in the beige trousers and tunic, he grabbed the belt hanging on the inside of the door and placed it around his waist. It contained the usual jedi requirements; his pocket rebreather, a small 50 credit pouch, a pocket for emergency food canisters, and a loop on either hip for his weapons. His lightsabers were in the bedside table, close at hand if he needed them in the night. On his right he placed his green saber, he had made it only recently following the trials. Yet already it felt like a true companion, an extension of himself. On his left he clipped the purple shoto, shorter than most standard shoto lightsabers. Keldro had salvaged it from when his first lightsaber was destroyed, it's blade once blue now contained a purple crystal. The handle having been sliced nearly in half, fit perfectly in the palm of his hand, leaving only the emitter popping out of the top.

There was to be a meeting today in the Council chambers. Keldro was unsure yet as to why he was summoned, he felt there was very little he could offer the Masters of the order. He hoped they wouldn't want a retelling of what had happened to his master, it was still too raw in his chest. Making his way out the door he grabbed his brown robe wrapping it around his shoulders, leaving the hood down. There was no need to cover his face in the company of his fellow Jedi.

Making his way left, down the hallway from his door, was the lift. He had been told the chamber could be found on the top floor of this tower. The lifts thankfully we're fully operational, Keldro would not have enjoyed taking the journey up the stairs. Already the lift had taken him halfway up, when Keldro felt the warmth of the gathering force users at the top. Hoping he wasn't late, he rushed out the lift doors before they were nearly half way open. Taking a brisk paced walk he saw before him the great double doors that held the Council chambers within.

Entering without drawing too much fuss to himself, Keldro spotted Masters Durron, Krahl, Iceay and Deakin. Bowing to them all in turn,
Greeting Masters, may the Force serve you well this morning.”
He saw that he had in fact not been late, he was one of the first to arrive. Moving to the back of the room he would wait for others to join them.

IC: Master Allunk Soss
Jedi Council Chambers, Tython Temple

Allunk Soss had been waiting in a shadowed corner for what seemed like hours, but could have just been a few minutes for the Council Members to arrive and begin this meeting. But it mattered not, he would stand there for days, if not weeks if he had to. Finally Master Isosi Kast had arrived, and the meeting could begin.

"Thank you, all," Master Isosi Kast said "for gathering today. I feel there is much to discuss and we have been hardly able to set aside time in which to talk. Our losses may be great… But our resilience is greater."

Allunk bowed his head in remorse, and respect for the fallen, before stepping forward from his post. “There isss no contemplation, there isss only duty.” He said in a crackly hissing voice. “Though our brothersssss and sssisssterssss have fallen, we mussst never forget their sssacrifissse in the name of duty. They died trying to protect thossse who could not protect themssselvesss. Very honorable, and well kept to the idealsss of the code. Sssomething we must all assspire to do.

He spoke up, trying to show his respect for the fallen. What happened at the Coruscant Temple was tragic, and they would feel the pain and loss of those who died in their hearts for some time to come. But they must all remember that the fallen have rejoined the Force, and the Force will always be with them. Surrounding them, penetrating them, and binding the galaxy together.

Switching to his native tongue he speaks quietly, and mostly to himself in Dosh. “Rof all t'ath s'ent, aer ret yot force's ba. T'ath zi ink way. Ank od jal use zi, but enk zi guide us sha zi's flow.” (For all that die, are by the Force's will. That is our way. We do not use it, but let it guide us in it's flow.) And then remains silent.

IC: Auberon Adasca

Coruscant

The skies above filled with fire and the vicious shapes of black starfighters bombarding the once-gleaming city with their hellish weaponry. Chaos reigned supreme as the Sith invasion left a steady stream of bodies in its wake, making its way toward the Jedi Temple. The screech of lightsabers clashing, the zing of blaster bolts firing off, made their way above the din of carnage enveloping the city-planet. The Senate building was aflame in the distance, it itself experiencing an upheaval like never before.

A figured of black, gold, and violet whirled through the halls of the temple, cutting down acolyte after acolyte with a slice of his saber. His billowing cloak obscured his movements until it was too late for the Sith to react, allowing him to pierce their bodies, ending their lives.

Auberon Adasca ceased his battle dance as the bodies before him collapsed. Valiant a warrior as he was, there was no end to these invaders, and the only end to this would be reinforcements, which he feared would never come, or to escape. The latter was the only viable option. He panted sharply, rushing towards his fellow Jedi to help defend the entrance, engaging once more with a combination of Force and saber to turn back the tide.

It would at first appear to work, as the weaker Sith acolytes were eviscerated by the far superior Jedi Knights, though hope was not to last for long. The sound of arcing lightning striking several of the Jedi, incinerating some of the lesser ones. The Arkanian's golden eyes flashed toward the source, and the image filled him with horror.

Auberon's Nightmare.png
The hulking shape of a horned warlord, eyes glowing behind his skeletal mask, marched toward the Temple entrance, leading an army of Sith acolytes and troopers. An inward urge to submit himself to the demonic being, to cower and yield, plagued him. Yet the strength of his will overcame his fear. Diverting his attention back to the task at hand, he made a swift jab at the nearest Sith, locking sabers with him until the former's strength overpowered the latter's, rotating his elbow into the warrior's face and spinning into a stab that pierced his heart.

He turned, only in time to see a flash of blueish light before him. He felt a searing pain in his chest as the icy blade tore through the front of his chest, completely depleting him. He fell to one knee, clutching at the wound in his chest, his cloak resting now around him. The entire battle seemed silent now, save for the throbbing in Auberon's head. He pulled his hand away from his chest, discovering only shards of red ice where blood should be. Looking further upwards, he beheld his nightmare: the wicked skull of the warlord. One eye flashed red, a symbol of a merciless spirit. With such little effort, the behemoth raised his sword, plunging it down toward the Jedi's head.

SNAP-HISS!

The violet blade of the Jedi ignited, just in time to catch the blade and divert it. It struck the billowed cloak, cutting a part of it. For a moment, the Sith stood still, dumbfounded that his strike had been thwarted, before raising his great black boot to kick the Jedi backward, sending him back into the temple several meters away. Auberon coughed up blood, spitting the iron-tasting liquid from his mouth as he scrambled to rise to his feet. Behind him was the path to the hangar, and without thinking of anything but his own survival, he mustered what little Force power remained within him to speed towards freedom, leaving behind the Temple and its defenders.

Tython

Auberon (No Coat).jpeg

Auberon approached the council doors, entering slowly and bowing as he faced the remaining Jedi. He remained quiet, having spent the last week healing from his wounds and still not having fully recovered. A great scar remained on his chest, likely to never fade despite the best efforts of the Jedi healers who had escaped.

He listened to the noble, hopeful, and sorrowful words of those around him, yet felt nothing but despair. Everything they had fought for and deemed good was gone before their eyes. Hope was the last thing contained within his spirit now, and yet his elders talked of precisely that virtue.

What a load of shavit.

IC: Nissa Khes

Location: Tython

This is what her mother and father had warned her about so long ago. She had asked them why there were no Gurlainin on Raydonia and they had said they had to leave their homeworld. Invasion after invasion. They couldn’t escape it. Could she? It had been peaceful on Coruscant. It had become home. And now it was all gone. Is this what her people had felt time after time? The loss, the confusion, the anger….

No. Not anger. Anger leads to the dark side. Loss was a part of life. It should be accepted and not mourned. But she hadn’t expected it. All those Jedi….they had become one with the force. They would guide the survivors, they were not really gone. They lived on in their teachings and acts. But she couldn’t pull herself away from the sorrow, it seemed today well up in her no matter how many times she willed it to go away.

She hoped Tarin hadn’t been there. She knew he returned to Coruscant from time to time. She wished her abilities were as strong as his, then maybe she could reach out through the force and search for him, feel his presence far away from the death and danger, from the wreckage of the temple.

Was Tython really home now?

Nissa couldn’t study anymore. She had read the same paragraph on her datapad four times now. And the other initiates and Padawans had been filing in for a while now. The room felt crowded and Nissa just wanted to be alone. Alone with the force. She wanted to meditate.

When her mind was clear and all was quiet, she pretended she could feel them all around her. Cera, Kam, Iya, Tarin, all the Jedi who had guided her. Those who had helped her become who she was. She had been told she would receive a master soon. She had hoped it would be one of them. But they weren’t here anymore.

Nissa made her way back to her quarters and fell into the pile of pillows she set around her when she meditated. She closed her eyes. She blocked out the loss and sadness. She cleared her mind. She attempted to feel peace.

IC: Decon Jinn
Location Coruscant

The war was horrible Coruscant in flames , Sith and Troops everywhere. The 18yr Padawan was leading a bunch of younglings to safety as he helped them board a pair of troopers appeared behind them.

" HALT IN THE NAME OF THE EMPIRE!!"

Yelled one of the troopers Decon's hand was already on his lightsaber and holding it firmly and ignited the light blue crystal of the saber, yelled at the pilot " Go Now Get them to safety at the rendezvous point!! "
The pilot took off sealing the bay doors after taking off from the pad. Turning to the troopers with his saber ignited " You won't harm those younglings, you may take your fight with me." * Blaster fire ignited from the troopers.

Decon was skilled with the lightsaber for his age Deflecting the blasts back at the troopers killing them both. And he carried on towards the next transport as he got closer he flet like a hole in had been created in his heart like someone close to him had died, But he knew there was no time to morn the dead and that he had to survive. Making his way through the rubble he had arrived at the transport full of surviors, A small patrol of troopers fired off a rocket into the ships bay as the doors were closing * the ship imploded, and flaming wreckage fell from the sky. * Dodging the debris* Moving onward Decon took out the small set of troopers that took out the ship using his knowledge of the force to do so. He finally boarded a transport, that took him to Tython the destination ordered.

Decon meditated for the entire trip to Tython focused on the pain and sadness that he felt on Coruscant, But he couldn't sense her at all.

Location: Tython

The ship landed after gaining clearance and Decon with all his belonging which were the clothes on his back , and his lightsaber exited the ship and made his way to the main entrance to the temple.

* Hissing Open for the young one to enter*

Quickly finding a master Decon informed them of who he was and that he had just arrived from Coruscant, and asked what he could do next.

IC: Master Kast
Northern Temple - Council Chamber

Master Kast nodded at the greetings and remarks of those who had gathered at her request; she waited still for the remainder of the Jedi Council to congregate, as the true purpose for their convening needed to be discussed. She twitched her lips and gripped the middle of her cane, wrapping her tanned fingers around it just so. Resilience, she thought, almost huffing.

"Our fight on Coruscant continues to linger on; but with the loss of Master K'kruhk, we find ourselves leaderless and directionless, scrambling to pick up the pieces of our Order. Tython was our safety net, but with the iron fist of the Sith wrapped so tightly around the galaxy, I fear that the light of the Jedi is in grave danger of being snuffed out altogether." She looked around the room at those who had gathered. "I would like to call upon the Order to begin reclaiming our ancestral worlds. And we will need each and every one of you to step up."

She tossed her head, flipping a lock of dark gold hair behind a neatly filed horn. "Initiates without Masters will need to be assigned one posthaste. Knights without missions will need to be given objectives to follow. And most importantly: We are going to require a Grand Master once more."

IC: Keldro Unmar
Northern Temple- Council Chambers

As Master Kast spoke, the room dimmed. Hope was drained with every syllable. They were losing, the sith were too many , too organized , too savage. They cared not for the destruction of the people, their only goal was control. Yet hope must still remain , they were to reclaim ancestral Jedi worlds. Perhaps some secret remains hidden away, some way for them to stop the needless slaughter. However to achieve this they would need to stand united, they would need to elect a new Grand Master.

Keldro shifted uneasily, he burned internally, filled with questions. Yet he didn’t want to be the first to speak, there was an order to things , but perhaps this was a time of change for all of them.

Can- *ahem*” Keldro cleared his throat as it suddenly became void of moisture. “ Can we even vote in a new GrandMaster ? Tradition states the Orders leader needs to be voted in unanimously by the council. Forgive me if I’m wrong Master Kast, but it seems like we only have 3 members left. There are little enough of us left here to make up the 9 remaining members, of those how many are ready for such a huge responsibility” Keldro paused to draw breath. His mind unfairly returning to his dream last night , watching his master die before him, the laughter of the faceless sith. Glancing around, the Jedi knight saw all eyes were on him. Not knowing how long he had paused for, he hastily added “I-I’m… I’m sorry Master Kast, I spoke rashly and out of turn. Forgive me , I know that you and the remaining councilors wouldn’t have called us here if you didn’t have a plan.”

He made a low growling noise, not in anger, but to pull attention to himself. "Lisssten before you ssspeak. Massster Kassst isss informing usss of what needsss to be done, not what will happen now. We can hope the delay isss to keep asss many younglingsss sssafe asss they can." He finished trying to sound hopeful.

He was trying to stay optimistic. He was trying to keep those dark thoughts at bay. He hoped he was right, for if he wasn't he would make them pay. No, no, no. He was a Jedi, he would not forsake his teachings to return to the brutish ways of his people. He had learned to be better than that, and to try and find a peaceful path. It was hard, but he had come so far in his 35 years. There zi jalumba contemplation, there zi only duty! "With your permisssssion, Massster Kassst, I would like to resssume the hunt. IC: Master Kei Durron
Location: Jedi Council Chambers, Tython

The Order had been crumbling for a while. In the mind of the Sage, this crumbling had taken place ever since the death of Grand Master Kol Skywalker at the Massacre of Ossus. K'Kruhk tried to lead them and failed, dying in the process. But K'Kruhk and even the Sage's own dearly departed Master, T'ra Saa, were relics of the bygone Clone Wars Era anyway. The Jedi of that time had numerous problems. They were warriors, blinded by the single minded goal of defeating the Sith Lord Tyranus and his Confederacy of Independent Systems. Blind to the fact that they could not even protect their beloved Old Republic from coming under the leadership of the dastardly Chancellor, Darth Sidious.

The New Jedi were different. They were protectors of the Galaxy, but after the passing of Grand Master Luke Skywalker and his greatest student, Kyp Durron, the Order fell to Skywalker's family, and it was in good hands until Kol's son Cade rejected his duty and followed his own path.

Master Kast was smart to call together a meeting of any remaining Jedi to come to Tython. The ancestral home of the Jedi should be their homebase. And she spoke well in her wanting to get the Jedi back on task. Students needed teachers, Knights needed missions, and the Order needed a Grand Master. The Sage knew full well who it had to be.

She'd been dawdling about the Council chamber ever since Kast arrived, though through her vaunted powers of Illusion, no one paid any attention to the seemingly young girl that was intently listening to the continued conversation. The child strode towards Master Soss and said to him sassily, "You are incorrect, Master Soss." When she said this, the air around the child began to shift. Her clothes grew into long white robes, she grew in height and the features of the young girl were quickly replaced with that of an aged man. The brown curls of hair straightened and lost all color, becoming the flowing white locks and long beard of the easily recognized Master Kei Durron. In his hand, his staff appeared with his Convor perched at the top.

His tone was now low and wise, and he spoke to the whole of the room present.
"A new Grand Master is needed, and should I be chosen, our beloved Order will reclaim our lost worlds, we'll protect the Galaxy once more, and no students will go untrained."

"Master Durron," Isosi said, holding out a hand in a gesture of welcome. "Please, come sit." She patted the arm of the seat nearest hers.

She smiled, a benevolent quirking of the corner of her lips. She truly admired him as an elder of their Order; not only did he come from a long line of masterful Jedi, but Kei Durron himself had proved himself utterly worthy of the Jedi Order. Secretly, she wished him to take the seat of Grand Master swiftly. His leadership was steadfast, unwavering. The Order could benefit immensely from a man like him at this time, when all was in tumult and disarray. The Order was starved of the strong guidance it once had under the Federation.

"Tell us of your plans, should you be chosen for Grand Master."

IC- Krossade Tjänare
Tython - Temple Gates

Outside of the Jedi temple, Krossade had heard there was an important meeting of the highest ranking Jedi today. What it is about, he has no clue. His curiosity, however, has always gotten the best of him and he had hitched a shuttle ride to the temple on Tython. While he would never dream of embarrassing his master by intruding, he doesn't see the harm in at least being close to the activity. Perhaps at the very least, it will show the other Jedi that he is brave and willing to be in a place to learn.

Tython itself is a marvel for his young eyes to behold with its towering cliff ledges that seem to have been sculpted by the fingers of the wind itself. He can feel the Force pulsating through it, awe-inspiring and terrifying all at the same time. He cannot help but wonder if all Force users sense and feel the same things here that he does and, though he loathes to admit his mind wonders these things, he can't help be curious as to what effect the planet would have on a user of the Dark Side.

As he meanders along outside of the temple, idly twirling a stick in his double-thumbed hand, he finds himself meditating on words he'd once read, spoken by an ancient Jedi:

"Tython is beautiful and powerful, enigmatic and dangerous, filled with mysteries and open to those comfortable with the Force. It was here long, long before us, and these mysteries persisted with no eyes to see them, no minds to contemplate them. And that is why I fear Tython. It means everything to us, and yet we are nothing to it. We are merely passing through."

Words spoken by Jedi philosopher Ni'Lander. Krossade had always found the statement to be strange to him. Fear has always been identified as a Dark Side pathway, yet this ancient Jedi spoke of having a fear of Tython. Perhaps he will have to ask his master, Cessik Phinx, to explain this to him one day. As one growing up under Jedi teachings, he tries very hard not to be afraid of anything; to trust the Force. It seems easy to him, likely because he is so young and naïve, so why would a Jedi have fear of a planet?

These thoughts chase each other around in his head until they altogether frustrate him and he plunks down on the ground with an impatient sigh, sitting cross-legged, his chin propped on one hand while he doodles in the dirt with the stick in his other hand. He absently strokes the nubs beginning to protrude along his jaw line. Tusks on a Kaleesh are like the start of facial hair on the human species. Even though they are only nubs just barely becoming visible, he feels a shiver of excitement in his belly. Soon he will be a grown Jedi and hopefully sooner than that, he will be trained to pilot a starfighter. So many things he wants to do, yet the life of a Jedi and the training involved seems to take forever.

IC: Initiate Stryker Kai
Location: Temple Gates

Stryker approached the steps of the Jedi Temple before him and couldn’t believe his eyes. To say being around the livelihood of the Force and its users once more as strange was an understatement for him. He wanted nothing more than to run himself to the archives or the training room and just dive head first into the lost knowledge of his early days of training with the Jedi. He knew it wasn’t that simple though. Much needed to be reconnected and learned again. If he even thought it was possible. It would take the guidance of the Masters to make it happen. He wasn’t sure why he was sent to Tython, but he was sure to wait patiently until the Masters either summoned him or he was directed to the next necessary destination. For the time being, he found a bench to sit quietly on and collected his thoughts for the moments ahead.

“Relax Stryker, there is no emotion, there is peace.”

Reciting and mumbling the mantra burned into his memory, Stryker tried to feel the grand connection with the place and the planet below, but could only sense his own emptiness. Like he was a void to the very galaxy around him. He had to switch focus in hopes he didn’t restart an existential crisis in the middle of the Temple grounds. Now was the time for peace and serenity to gather and collect himself.

IC: Taron Solo Ka'Kol
Council Chambers
Tython

Shame. Regret. Pain. The pain of loss. In the last years, Taron had been handed much loss. With the coupe on Hapes, his whole family had been killed before the Order could respond. Then, the Sith had sacked Coruscant. They'd killed so many. They'd killed his Master. Rasi Tuum was the closest thing Taron had known to a father.

What made the burn of shame and sadness worse was the man that had led the assault shared his face. His blood. The Temple had been sacked and leveled by Toran, his twin brother, now known as Darth Feros. It made his heart feel like it was being ripped from his chest. "Calm yourself, Taron. There is no emotion, there is only peace."

When he dreamt, he could see the battle through his brother's eyes. He could see himself wielding the crimson blades that cut Master Tuum asunder. He felt the blades bite into the fur and flesh. The subtle resistance that gave way to the smooth glide and finish.

He would always wake up in a freezing sweat. It had happened almost every night since they'd evacuated. He'd meditated to try to shut it away. He'd tried to sustain himself with the Force and keep from sleeping, which hadn't worked, and just made him feel jagged and frayed.

He'd had the dream again last night. Woken up with his shirt and sleeping shorts covered in cold sweat. He'd gotten up and dressed, meditated, gone outside the compound a bit and gone through his stances and sequences with his sabers, and then prepared for the meeting of the few remaining Jedi with any rank that had survived.

Taron arrived at the ad hoc Council Chambers and stood in the corner as everyone arrived and the Masters began to speak. He listened to Master Isosi Kast, a Zabrak Jedi Master who Taron held in very high regard. And she was right. The Order had to continue. They had to rebuild.

Keldro Unmar, a Knight that Taron had come up with, interrupted with a bit of an outburst, which was rapidly met with a small dressing down from Master Soss, a Trandoshan Jedi Master that Taron knew to be probably the best tracker that the Order had. "Well, if everyone else is talking, I suppose I have just as much buy in as everyone else here." He thought to himself.

But before he could speak, Master Durron spoke up, and as they spoke, Taron could feel the thrum of emotions in the room. He had to admit, Master Durron had the pedigree. They had been around the Order for a long time, and they were powerful in the Force. The Durron bloodline went back to the days of Taron's ancestor, Grandmaster Luke Skywalker, when the Order had risen to its peak. "Well, now's as good a time as ever, I guess."

"Masters, and gathered friends, I'd like to weigh in on this, if I could be permitted." Taron began. "Loss is something none of us are strangers to. We all lost friends and loved ones among those that fell at the Temple. The Sith Empire caught us unaware and capitalized on that. And we will mourn those that were lost. But we cannot dwell on that loss. We need to rebuild the Order." He stopped to frame his words, hoping he didn't sound like a fool.

"They were able to wound us so because we'd become complacent. We'd regressed back to the Order of the Galactic Republic days. I believe personally that the Galaxy needs a Jedi Order like the Order that defeated the Vong. We did not seek war, but war was brought to our doorstep and dropped before us like an unwanted child. If we are dedicated to peace, we must be dedicated to restoring peace. I am not suggesting we wage war with malice and hatred as the Sith do. We must fight this war with the love of peace and tranquility of righteousness in our very souls. We owe that to the people of the Galaxy, and moreover to those that were lost." Taron stopped here momentarily and took a deep breath, looking into the eyes of those that were gathered.

"Please, don't think that I am doing this to disgrace the memory of the Masters we have lost. They guided the Order in the direction they saw fit with our best interests in mind, and we were lucky to have them. But the situation has changed. It is time the Order changed with it."
